My wife won't leave home without it,and it is going to come in handed when we travel this year up north where we vacation,and upper Mich.where they have very few street signs

where was the cord?

You need to update maps and register product upon receiving this gps product.
A cord is required to hook it up to your computer to do so, which is NOT INCLUDED! Not at all happy about that. Garmin is best brand for ease of use.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: registering product and map update requires internet cord NOT INCLUDED

I received this as a birthday present to replace the one that was stolen out of my car. I think this is a great device and comes in handy when you are not sure what direction you should be going in.
What's great about it: Easy to use and I never get lost

Love this GPS. The POI is very cool...search by city, category and so much more.

Garmin satisfies, TomTom does not

I purchased the Garmin 255wt and TomTom XL 330s. Went on a road trip with both setup side-by-side. Entered address of destination and Garmin found it without any issues, TomTom could not find address. Both devices responded about the same while traveling. Needless to say, I returned the TomTom and am now a solid Garmin fan.
What's great about it: Great screen, easily updated via Garmin Web Updater, long battery life, finds every address entered.
What's not so great: Traffic function requires the Car Charger to work.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This GPS has everything you need

This GPS is a great value for the money. I like how it tells you the street names along with the distance to the turn and which direction you will turn. The size of the screen is great and easy to read during the day or night (it adjusts the screen brightness depending on if it is dark or not). My favorite feature is the "Points of Interest." It allows you to look up restaurants, stores, etc. purely by name, without having an address.
Overall, this is a great GPS. Others have more features that I do not find necessary. Also, anyone of any age can use this GPS. Look no further, this is the GPS you want to buy.
What's great about it: easy to use, size, features, battery life
What's not so great: nothing so far
