I've had two other GPS's so far and this one is by far the best. It includes a good amount of POI's compared to my older GPS's. The Navteq traffic alerts me of traffic along my route and I can use the AVOID TRAFFIC to get me around it. The only negative is that the traffic will only work when the charger is plugged in (must be that the traffic receiver is built in the charger). I will buy only GARMIN's from now on. My old GPS was a M........n.
What's great about it: The lifetime traffic has been very useful.
What's not so great: The traffic notification only works when the charger is plugged in.

Tom Tom is more pessimistic on your time to travel and I can usually improve on the projected time. Can rarely meet or improve on Garmin's projections. I miss Tom Tom displaying the distance remaining and projected time to cover. Prefer wider screen on Garmin. Tom tom one is a real performer at current prices. I am however using my newer Garmin more often. Was a good buy..
What's great about it: Shows posted speed limit and your speed, Speaks names of treets
What's not so great: Optomistic on projected time should leave plenty of time to reach destination

Excellent price for the features in this Garmin. It was my present to myself and have only had it in my car twice since Thanksgiving. My wife stole it!! Would recommend to anyone to buy it, very user friendly and just enough features.
What's great about it: Easy to use. I like how they put the speed limit on front of the Garmin, very ingenious.
What's not so great: It still doesn't have our 2 year old neighborhood mapped so home is out in a field on the Garmin

I purchased this great little GPS on Black Friday so I got it for a great deal from Best Buy. I had spent the past month reading reviews and weighing what options were the most important to me and settled on this model. I had an older model from Garmin which was always reliable so I decided to stick with a good thing. True, this model does not have all the bells and whistles that many of the new models have...but really, who needs to have voice recognition on their GPS? It takes only a minute to enter my destination so that was not a feature that was a priority to me. I also decided to choose a model without the hands free blue-tooth option, again not a feature I had to have in a GPS. What I was able to get for my money were all the features I really did want, plus the added bonus of the free traffic service. Living in snowy MN it was appreciated during a recent snow storm to alert me to the best route to take, and to tell me the approx. (fairly accurate) delay that I should anticipate. The small ads the pop up are barely noticeable, I am curious to find out if anyone other than Best Western advertises on it! This GPS was ready to go right out of the box, just updated the software which took only a few minutes and did the free map upgrade. I also purchased the lifetime maps feature as at the time of purchase as all accessories for my GPS could be purchased at a discount which saved me over $40 on the accessories I purchased. While I like the online My Garmin features I wish there were more voices to choose from, I think I've tried them all, and finally settled on one that has the best tone quality for me. Not sure why but my first reaction to the sound was that it was tinny. I'm not sure if I got use to it or what but the sound quality sounds fine to me now. Though this unit has some great routing options...fastest time, shortest & eco route I do wish there was a way to select to avoid certain roads. The eco route is really a neat feature though. I've gone through and determined the eco route to all the places I go to regularly and while it may add a minute or two to my travel time I can see that I make far less stops & travel on roads with my most fuel efficient speed limit so I have noticed better fuel efficiency. I did not expect to use this unit so often around my home, I bought it mostly for when I travel, but have found it to be really helpful to find new routes I would never have thought to try in the Twin Cities, and to find new points of interest in my own area. I've been using the unit now for almost 6 weeks and have not had any problems. I can now find the closest coffee anywhere I am! I recommend this Garmin GPS if you are looking for everything you really need in a GPS without all the extras you'll never use.
What's great about it: Garmin's easy to use interface, free traffic updates, routing options, My Garmin online support
What's not so great: sound quality, inability to select or avoid specific roads/highways

Bought this Garmin the day after Thanksgiving online when all the crazy people hit the local stores. Great price, and very fast shipping. So far it has been very accurate and extremely easy to use. We had no need to look at any directions, since the screen info makes it very easy. Offers all the points of interest anyone would ever want and very up to date. The 4.3 inch screen is very clear, bright, and easy to enter addresses in without hitting multiple keys by accident. The traffic update is great for any conjested areas and construction. Hit detour and it will guide you around it. The only thing that could be a little better is the battery life, but then again theres nothing wrong with plugging it in when using . Over all great unit highly recommended.
What's great about it: Easy to use, great holiday price, more featyres then most people will ever need
What's not so great: Battery life could be a tad better.

The only flip side if I may call it so is that in some instances (not all) the voice that recommends a turn calls it out too close to the turn making it a little dangerous. But there were very few instances of this.
And if you can actually also look at your GPS when you drive, you got nothing to worry about it. It calls out the distance precisely and you should be fine.
What's great about it: Voice clarity
What's not so great: Sometimes calls out too close to a turn making it dangerous
