Since this is my first GPS,i have nothing to compare it to,but with such self explanitory screens,in just a few minutes i had it figured out. I bought this unit, for a trip from Illinois,to Flordia, just so i wouldn't have to keep looking at a map. The directions were perfect,i knew exactly how far my next turn was,and what lane i needed to be in,even estimated time of arrival,to my next destination. The posted speed, and my actual speed feature was very helpfull, and how quick it registered was amazing. I know the Garmin 255wt will be with me any time i travel, the best investment i've made in a long time. Also, the many other features it has, once you have arrived at your destination, will help you find just about anything you can think of. Totally blew me away, with the amount of info there is,at your fingertips.
What's great about it: so easy to use
What's not so great: at times the routing could be better

I am biased in my review of the 255WT, since I owned a Garmin Street Pilot for years that I loved, and it is no longer in production. Therefore, I must adapt to the newer models with some undesirable traits, in comparision. Pros: choice between abc or qwerty keyboard, easy to use. Cons: no emergency vehicle setting, missing some locations that were found on the Street Pilot even after updating the map, no external volume control. Overall, it's a good deal and it will get the job done for the most part. I also own a Tom Tom which pales in comparison to any Garmin.
What's great about it: qwerty keyboard, easy to use
What's not so great: missing some locations that were on previous Street Pilot model, internal volume control

Well i bought this as a gift for my husband... Everything was perfectly fine with it, i mean its easy to use, comes with preloaded maps, reroutes you if you vear off course (which is wonderful for my husband). It was great. The only thing that it did that we werent so pleased with was, we barely used it for about 2 weeks and it somehow reset itself. All of our locations were erased. Luckily it was only 2 weeks in so we didnt have many locations on there that we didnt already know.... But everything else was just as expected. i just hope it doesnt happen again.
What's great about it: Easy to set up. Very user friendly. Pre loaded maps.

This is one of the best GPS's I have used. Compared to Tom Tom, the Garmin has been excellent. If there is traffic, you can simply hit detour to find another route. The product is very easy to use, has a clear screen, and provides great directions. Considering the price, I would not go with another brand of GPS. Definitely a must have item!
What's great about it: Very easy to use.
What's not so great: Battery life is not as long as I would like it to be, but that's what the charger is for.

I bought this on Black Friday and my wife "gave" it to me for Xmas. Very good price of $130 with lifetime traffic. I have used it just a few times but it does a great job. It is very fast at calculations and extremely accurate. Lots of useful features, I'm very happy with this Garmin.
What's great about it: It is very intuitive and easy to start using
What's not so great: It should come with a protective sleeve.

This GPS unit is great! My wife bought it for me for Christmas and I was excited to start using it. Many (MANY) more features than my 4 year old Garmin. I like the customizable automobile (I was able to pick a pickup truck picture). It finds the satellites and locations quickly. It's easy to disconnect and throw in my briefcase. The only problem I've had is trying to connect it to my computer. My computer (Windows Vista SP2) found it, but then I had issues downloading the Active X controls and getting the Garmin software to work. I haven't tried it on my home computer, which will be my next step. Overall though, I'm trilled with this little guy!

I love the actual GPS and have absolutely no problem with it. The only problem I have is with the accessory. My vehicle does not have a flat surface on the dash so there is no way of sticking the bottom part of the stand on there. I'm going to have to buy another stand for it because I'm having to make-up ways to set it up viewable in my car.
