The Nuvi 255wt was the first navagator I have ever used so didn't know what to expect. I was in a strange city and it worked perfectly to get me to pre determined places. I only wish you could over ride some of the directions as it took me on many side roads and would have been easier (after finding my way around myself) to use the main roads. It does re-program itself rapidly if you don't follow Samantha's directions but if you are not already familiar with the area that doesn't do much good except to get you on the right path should you get lost.
What's great about it: Easy to use and set up. Price varies a lot so check around for best price.
What's not so great: Better instruction manual, would like to be able to create my own way to get somewhere and save it instead of Samantha's

This is the second Garmin nuvi I've purchased in 2 years. The first was a more expensive model that I just paid to refurbish. This less expensive version is better, in my opinion, than the previous. With lifetime traffic updates and e-z to use features I think anyone can learn to use it and love it. I just paid more to troubleshoot and refurbish my older unit and I wish I would have just bought a new 255!
What's great about it: Intuitive design; easy to setup

This Garmin GPS has many features found in a higher price unit. Love the screen size, the text to speech feature and the lifetime traffic alerts. The kids like the ability to change the speaker's voice. We currently have an Australian guide, Karen. Really helps when we visit out-of-state.
What's great about it: Screen size, text to speech, traffic alert
What's not so great: Doesn't use a direct path at times, but gets you there

I like the GPS. The mount is better then other GPS mounts i've used (no vibration, sticks really well to the windshield). I don't really care for the keyboard, it's as though the keys are not aligned to the position they appear on the screen.
The added feature of traffic is great, even though I live close to DC I haven't used that feature.

I purchaed this after destriying the screen by accident on my old Garmin which had served me well for more than 5 years. This was incredibly easy to use and there was no need to even read directions. commands are simple and the touch screen is nice and responsive. I also like the traffic updates with constant problems on our local highways.
What's great about it: Very easy to set up right out of the box, plug and go
What's not so great: Battery loses charge quickly when in a cold car overnite in the winter
