What's great about it: An Unexpected turn and the acoustic tracks are a definite bonus.
What's not so great: It lacks some of their old sound that their fans fell in love with. You grow to love it, though.
It Blitz! is a completely different direction for the once gritty punk rockers from the streets of New York City. With the use of Drum machines as well as other electronic additions, it comes off more like a dance record, escpecially Heads Will Roll which sounds almost like a Neo-Disco/ Punk hybrid, which is courtesy of Karen O.'s unique and exciting voice. If you are an avid Yeah Yeah Yeah's fan it might be difficult to understand at first, but the more you listen the more you love it. The acoustic tracks are an excellent bonus and well worth the three dollars or so. If this is a crossover album, it leaves much to the imagination what the next album will sound like.
