This dash mount is easy to use and does not move when driving and sharp turns. I live down a long rough driveway and even with my 7'' GPS attached to it, it does not move. I've even tried to see if I could make it fall over and it would not fall over.
The only down side is that it will leave a wet look on the dashboard where it sits.
I just unplug the GPS from the power cord when I reach my destination and place the GPS and dash mount between my van seats out of sight so I'm not leaving a easy sign saying here's my GPS come take me.

What's great about it: I'm able to unplug the GPS and move out of sight when out of my van when I'm at my destination.
What's not so great: Leaves a wet look on dash.

Some states in the USA do not allow a GPS to be attached to your windshield and this holder eliminates that issue. It works great anywhere on the dash of your vehicle. It does not move at all when turning corners or stopping quickly. Very easy to attach my Garmin.

Great alternative to the default suction cups

This works great as an alternative to those suction cups that come default with any GPS. The suction cups often fall of the windshield, which can damage the GPS. This friction mount works well because it's fairly heavy/stable, won't fall over if you go over a bump, and allows for easy rotation of the GPS once mounted due to its ball-and-socket joint. Note that if you move the mount around a lot or place it on any surface that isn't clean, the bottom pad can start to pick up dust/lint, which may reduce the friction against the dashboard.

Overall I am satisfied with the purchase. I do think it was a bit expensive and had I not been in immediate need of a mount I probably would have shopped around for something more reasonably priced. To its merit though it does keep the GPS securely in place, at a good viewing angle and I have had no problems.
