The stand is sturdier than I initially thought it would be. It does not slide on the dash like my older Garmin beanbag stands do. The hinging arm allows my 7-inch Nuvi to vibrate lots. I minimized this by lowering the arm to where the Nuvi rests on the rubber base. It's lower than I like but feels more stable overall. I am nervous about the slightly tacky base eventually leaving residue behind on the dash if left in a hot car for long periods of time.
