Bad Design

I bought this thinking that it was better than the bean bag one, which my daughter has. This is very poorly designed. Where all the weight is cantilevered from at the base of the mount has no stability laterally. They put that at the front. So when you drive down a bumpy Michigan road, the GPS display is a blur due to the instability. For those technical, the lateral acceleration at the top of the GPS is about 10 times greater than at the base of the mount. Not good. I have the latest and greatest Garmin GPS that is probably one of the heavier ones, but you think they would have thought about this one a little. Get the bean bag one - much better. This will probably shorten the life of your GPS unit with all the vibrations.
What's great about it: Not so bulky
What's not so great: No lateral support - GPS becomes blurry from all the vibrations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this is the best gps mount you can get - we have tried several in our family and this one is compact and very durable - buy it - can be moved from car to car

I have had the beanbag mount for a few years, thought I would give this a try with a new GPS. Seems to work just fine.
The bottom is made of a Gumby material that can be molded to fit curves in the dash.
The sticky bottom surface grips very well. It does pick up dust & dirt & anything else it touches, but it also (so far) is easy to clean with a drippy-wet sponge followed by a pat dry with a paper towel.
I can't comment yet on whether it leaves marks on the dash - none that I've seen, but haven't used it extensively.
I would probably say that I prefer the beanbag, but this product works well, no complaints.
What's great about it: The gumby molds to fit & stickiness holds it in place well.
What's not so great: Can't really rearrange it while driving. Requires occasional cleaning.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I think for alot of people it will come down to simple personal preference between this and the giant beanbag mount. Both are very rock solid and never slide on my Chevy Cruze's dashboard.
What's great about it: looks, staying power
What's not so great: all is well

I bought this because a Sales Employee showed me how it sticks on real good and doesn't budge a bit. Sold I thought. HA! I put it in my car and the adhesive doesn't do anything. In fact it stained my dashboard! God knows how I'll clean that off. NOT HAPPY!!!
