I have had the bean bag mount for years. I purchased this one for traveling because it so so much lighter. I found that is is not only lighter then the bean bag mount it actually stays in place much better. Does not slide and contours to the dash. Great item.

Holds to dash board better than any other mount I've used. Only drawback is very cold weather prevents easy hold when transferred to second car. Second mount will solve problem.
