1 month and counting. Just starting playing ps3 and cod. This games looks better than what I've played so far. Going to be a lot of sleepless nights with this one.

THIS GAME WAS THE FIRST MILITARY SIMULATION GAME I HAVE PLAYED SINCE SOCOM ON PS2 AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH EVERY ASPECT OF THE GAME. FROM INTERACTION, TO WEAPONS AND HAVING TO BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, YOU HAVE TO FULLY IMMERSE YOURSELF FOR THE COMPLETE FEEL.
What's great about it: VERY REALISTIC ADAPDS TO MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND WARFARE
What's not so great: OVERUSE OF GRAPHICS CAUSES OVERHEATING IN SOME SYSTEMS

There has already been a countless number of reviews for this game, so I'll try to be as brief as possible.
CoD4 had a seamlessly perfect campaign. While MW2's was also good, it was not seamless. Multi-player has been improved because of host-migration. New weapon attachments and perks to unlock will keep both casual and hardcore gamers playing for hours on end.
I do believe that this game lived up to its hype for its multi-player aspect. It's a very worthy sequel.
What's great about it: multi-player, host migration

whats bad about it is that the multiplayer kinda sucks compared with MAG multiplayer. the campaign is amazing, but online multi is laggy and confusing, fun, and yet missing something more realistic as in getting money so as to buy the weapons instead of exp and challenges and stuff... otherwise the spec ops and the campaign are amazing. hopefully in codmw3 they will improve on the multiplayer.

My problem with games these days is all the company's seem to focus on the online play. I do like playing on line but I really like a good story line and a long campaign, a good example of that is resistance fall of man. Since that game I can't think of a game that is as long.

It was difficult at first to get use to the realistic side of this 1st person shooter. This is my first time owning and regularly playing a COD game. It was hard to get use to aiming and then shooting, the blood that increases on your screen as you get shot, decreasing your ability to see, and it's harder to shoot back when getting shot. This is a very fun multiplayer game, especially online. The gamers themselves can get a little out of control but otherwise it's a blast. The only thing that can be frustrating is when you're playing online and if there's lag, you can end up thinking your enemey is closer or farther away than he really is, or your shank or shot doesn't always register. One other thing is that sometimes it accidently shanks when I try to move quick and messes up my firing. It use to happen a lot because I wasn't use to the controls. It still occurs every now and then, despite being use to the controls.
What's great about it: local and online multiplayer
What's not so great: glitches/lag that occur online

I am a hardcore Call Of Duty fan ever since the very first one on PS2 I loved them all up until World at War I don't know what it is exactly but they killed this game and that includes modern warfare 2 as well I was really really looking forward to it but when I got it and played it this game sucks the gameplay is cartoonish the weapons all feel and look cartoonish you shoot the guns they don't even make any noise it sounds like a bb gun
in conclusion COD4 is way better and im going to stick to playing it I have all the call of duty's from the first one to modernwarfare 2 so the past 2 new call of duty's world and war and modern warfare 2 were a waste of my money.
What's great about it: They added a few new cool features but thats about it.
What's not so great: Everything!!! the game play sucks the weapons suck the original COD4 way better.

The campaign is too short so if you are buying this for that reason, do not. The co-op offers some gameplay but split screen can be painful. Online is mediocre to decent
I am not a seasoned FPS player but I do OK. Personally I do find glitches here and there, along with the horrible lag: the main reason I give it 2 stars, else I would give it 3. Many times I am making headshots with my sniper gun yet I only manage to "wound" the guy, and this is with stopping power. I do find people snipping me without actually spending time to look through scope and get OHK from far away, that is something I have yet to learn how to do but still I don't see how head shots cannot kill enemies, at least from my side. Also, many times I will fire shotguns almost in melee range and yet I get knifed and die. Yes it has to do something with the my slow reflexes but lag plays a major role. While looking through the killcam, I don't see even a single shot fired from my gun.
Overall, if the lag goes away, if weapons were a little more balanced, the game would be decent. A lot of it is hype. If you are easily frustrated, look somewhere else. You will constantly end up joining games where your team is losing....or worst straight in to a nuke strike. If you find it on sale around $30ish, it is probably worth it but nothing more than that.
