The easiest $60 I've spent in a long time.

As great as MW1 was, MW2 builds upon and creates a gaming experience like no other. I played MW1 regularly from the moment I purchased a PS3 in mid 2007 to the time I inserted the MW2 disc. Not a single game that I have ever played was more fun.....until now.
Multiplayer action is this game is as crisp as before. Most other FPS, I found the aiming to be the biggest hurdle, but MW1 and now in MW2 the aiming feels effortlessly responsive and true. Frustration comes from poor choices, bad strategy, or just terrible luck - NOT from a poor aiming system.
Single player action (so far) has been extremely enjoyable; and like each CoD game, the story is engrossing, dramatic, and at least for MW2, eerily prophetic. My only beef so far with this game is that it seems you can take a lot more hits than in MW1. This could be explained by better armor, but my character can take a huge beating before going down which detracts from the strategy of picking good positions.
The sound is phenomenal and engaging and even my multiplayer experience has been very pleasant.
Some of the best things about this game are the ability to customize your character to much more advanced degree than in the previous installment. Specifically, the ability to alter kill streak rewards and more accessories to weapons create a new definition to to the word "cool". However, some of the kill streak rewards, in my opinion, offer the user/team too much of an advantage. One in particular is what appears to be a hovering attack helicopter. This thing is diabolical and seems to target me relentlessly for too long a duration. With several of my teammates attacking, it was not destroying or even showed signs of wear. Eventually it left, apparently out of ammo.I have not earned this perk yet so maybe it is sour grapes, but I think the time limit for this advantage should be shortened.
Last thing, multiplayer was dropping servers on the first night, but I expect this problem will correct itself in short time.
I imagine this game will by a part of my gaming experience for several years.
What's great about it: Multiplayer maps, graphics, story, new weapons, perks, and kill streak options
What's not so great: Damage realism; excessive advantage in some kill streak options (hovering attack heli!!!)
I would recommend this to a friend!

they should just go ahead and name this, 'GAME OF THE DECADE'...... Infinity Ward has far exceeded expectations in delivering probably the most detailed game of the series. while the airport level is very disturbing (mowing down civilians in the airport), it accurately depicts what a horrible scene it would be. have not checked out the special ops yet, but the campaign (so far) and multiplayer are both extremely entertaining. A MUST BUY IF YOU OWN A CONSOLE!!!
p.s. kinda glad i didn't get the night vision goggles -- they look absolutely ridiculous -- "they really aren't that noticeable on your face" - Step Brothers
What's great about it: ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!!

Excellent game superb graphics. Not 6months ahead of everyones hardware like COD5. Just a great game that takes advantage of the lastest hardware without choking your computer. But with that said I must admit had I known about the multiplayer game I might not have purchased the game. If you have more than one person in your household that wants to play the game youll have to buy a game for each. Yes thats right unlike cod4 only one profile can be created per computer. Also when playing multiplayer mode you dont get to pick your map it is assigned to you. Yes you can create your own jion a buddies game in a private match but no xp points are earned. Lastly 18 player max is a step backward. To their credit the maps are great and fun to play. But for hardcore COD mp gamers that might not be enough.
What's great about it: Killer graphics Fanrastic storyboard clever missions
What's not so great: Use of steam client for multiplayer game
I would recommend this to a friend!

This review is mainly about the online play - the single player mode is nearly flawless........
First off, I must agree with a couple other reviewers when they say MW1 online play was a little better than this one...but I canthink that is only because the maps are so big. The graphics in this game are great, players blend into the background perfectly (almost to d*** good). There are A LOT of new features added to this version which may be another reason people are saying MW1 was better. Once everyone warms up to the NEW FEEL of this MW (including me) it will once again be Game of the Year and the Best Selling game of all time..... It probably already is!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your a COD fan buy this game you will enjoy it after a VERY SMALL learning curve.
What's great about it: Single Player Mode - Everything!!!!!
What's not so great: Online play (hopefully because its new)
I would recommend this to a friend!

AT FIRST I WAS EXCITED ABOUT THIS GAME BECAUSE IT WAS THE NEW CALL OF DUTY, BUT SINCE PLAYING IT NOW, I CAN SAY I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE STORYLINE AND GRAPHICS. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS GAME AND SO FAR IT HAS LIVED UP TO ITS EXPECTATIONS.
What's great about it: GRAPHICS, NEW WEAPONS, GAME PLAY

mw2 is a really good game solely because of its online gameplay. i have only played a few of the missions and no spec ops but from what ive seen its decent. the new attachments for the guns and more camoflauges are cool too. the new guns are better and the iron sights are way better than the first one. the one thing that got me really mad a lot was the blood on the screen. it makes it realllly hard to soo when you are trying to fun away from the enemies. its a good game but look forward to online not campaign.
What's great about it: new weapons, killstreaks, attachments,
What's not so great: blood when you get shot.
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you are simply buying ot for mp, then this is a five star game. but if you dont play online, the single player, while fun, is pretty short. best if you play online and single player
What's great about it: Awesome Multiplayer
What's not so great: it is a little short
