I was a little apprehensive about these products so I purchased a small sealer to start and sealed a slice of turkey breast. I took it out of the freezer the following thanksgiving and put it in the microwave and it was like I have just taken it out of the oven. So with those results I bought a larger sealer and have use it for everything all the fish I catch large blocks of cheese cut in smaller pieces seal it put it in the bottom bins in the refrigerator. Great product don't get lured in for the look alike products they do not work as well.

When I bought these, I had gotten an email stating buy 3 rolls get 3 free rolls. I did not find anything to indicate the free item and of course I did not receive 3 free rolls. I prefer to purchase items with some sort of sale as the products are rather pricey.

Foods freezer safe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this system for over 10 years and use it very much. It really keeps my food safe and tasting like I just bought it from the store. I can put unused in a freezer sealed bag and save for another meal instead of throwing away. Great way to save money and stock up on food sales.

THE PLUS PART
I have a vac 550 that I bought in January of 2003 which I've used regularly since..A WARNING TO OWNERS..I've tried the "aftermarket" bag material and while they are a little cheaper, the quality is far below FOODSAVER standards, so save your money. The FOODSAVER VAC SYSTEM has saved me thousands of dollars over the years (buying family packs), not to mention the benefit of a variety of FRESH food that is always available in my freezer, for me or if a surprise group happens to be around at dinner time. I even wrote a review that was in AARP magazine that, I'm told, had a very positive response. Even though my household is down to just me now, I know that if my vac 550 ever "gives up the ghost", I'll immediately be on the FOODSAVER web site to get a new one...EASILY ONE OF MY BEST AND SMARTEST PURCHASE...HANDS DOWN

I'm on my third food saver machine....and buy the rolls in quantity as a money saver. Bags are reusable, however, they do need to be replaced from time to time. Moving the bags around in the freezer can cause small holes which leaves the bags....almost useless....however, even those can be reused for other purposes. I use those for sealing insurance cards/registrations for ATVs, the boat, vehicles, etc. Also they are great to carry 'fire starter kits' when hunting/hiking/camping, etc. Purchased my first machine in 1995! Thanks

Surprised after Hurricane Irma!

All our meats are frozen in FoodSaver bags. We lost electricity for 3 days and 10 hours after Hurricane Irma passed through the Atlanta area recently. To our surprise all the meats were still frozen solid. The last minute meats that came from the grocery store were not sealed as we lost electricity early. These items were spoiled.The FoodSaver bags turned our meats into "meaty ice cubes" that helped the freezers maintain cold temperatures. We did lose some boxed fish and a few vegetables, but were very pleased with the overall experience. Thanks FoodSaver!
