I recently got the debut CD by Diane Birch. It was very well done. A couple of my favorite songs from the CD wereValentino, Photograph and Don’t Wait Up.
For a comparison of her sound, if any of you are American Idol she sort of sounds like Megan from this past season.
The songs are smooth sounding, very relaxing, while others have a nice beat to them.
For a new artist, I always am hesitant if I would like the music and I quite liked this new artist.

There are a few songs on this album that immediately made me think of Stevie Nicks and a few other that sound similar to Carly Simon. If you're a fan of Joss Stone, Joni Mitchell or the other two artists mentioned above then I think you'll like this album.

For a debut album, Diane Birch did a good job... She wrote all the music her self. A couple of my favorite songs were "Photograph" and "Fools". Diane sounds a lot like some of our old favorites such as Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks.

DIANE BIRCH KNOWS HOW TO SING THE BLUES SO MUCH IT TRANSPORTS YOU TO NEW ORLEANS WITH HER SITTING ON THE EDGE OF THE STAGE, JUST SINGING THE BLUES. YOU CAN HEAR HEAR HER EMOTIONS AS SHE CROONS. THIS CD, HER FIRST IS WORTH YOUR MONEY. AS FAR AS ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT, I DON'T SEE OR HEAR ANY. I COULD JUST KEEP LISTENING TO HER AGAIN AND AGAIN.
What's great about it: MUSIC IS BEST OF THE BLUES I'VE HEARD FOR YEARS

I have never heard of her. I thought she sounded like Stevie Nicks. She doesn't need a back up singer she can do it on her own. The music is easy listening with a bluesy tempo. I would love to hear more of her music.

If one were to mix Carly Simon, Norah Jones, with some crisp lyrics and undertones of bluesy notes you'd get Diane Birch. I love Bible Belt, particiularly "Fools" and "Rewind" - Diane's talent is deep, layered and relaxes you, like a complex chardonnay. My tween daughter kept playing track #3 "Fools" over and over - looks like Diane appeals to more than 40ish women!

Maybe this will be cliched by the time I write, but Diane's "Bible Belt" is a mixture of Norah Jones, Patsy Cline and a little Ella Fitzgerald thrown in. The melodies are haunting, the tunes are timeless, and the sentiments are universal: heartache, loss, and the determination to get back up and keep plugging on.
This one will definitely make my Favorites Playlist!
