The configurations on this unit are simple and it works very well for maintaining power on cable boxes, routers, switches, stereo equipment. I get about an hour of backup on it with those units. Don't plug in a TV though it will drain in seconds.

This unit by APC is very well made and rock solid. The features are un-Matched by any other on the market. It has preformed flawlessly the three times we lost power, from a few seconds to several minutes over the past few months. Previously to installing this unit I would lose data on a regular basis. Now I do not have to worry at all. I only power my CPU tower to extend run time to it's maximum, so I may shutdown safely, when or if the need may arise.

Nice investment

I have had APC back-UPS before but recently purchased a new security system and wanted to make sure it was still operational for some time after a power outage and also for protection from surges.

After extensive reviews from several sites and from the company itself I ended up buying two APC's. One each BR1300G and BX1300G. There is not a lot of differences between the two other than total time running on battery.

Not even a week after I purchased these and had them operational we had a storm blow thru taking the power out for a short time. It was nice being able to see that the system was still recording an hour after the power had gone out. It ran for just over an hour with the load I had on them though they were not full loads that is the choice I wanted. One for the DVR security system and the other for the Network internet.

Having the smaller UPS system on the computers is a plus also as it was nice to actually go online even after the power went out being each system was running on battery power.

You can't go wrong with having battery back-ups around. There a step above the surge protectors.

Batteries in unit were dead, QA sheet included inside box was dated June 19th, 2009, I just bought this and received June 22, 2016, so seriously, BB is selling 7 year old merchandise with batteries that are expected to last 3 years! What a disappointment!

great power supply and backup

This is a fantastic power supply and battery backup. We don't lose power too often at home, but when we do, it's not great for your desktop p.c. or other devices to be abruptly powered off. Likewise, fluctuations in power can strip year's off of your pc's power supply's life.This fits the bill and TWICE has worked as advertised with brownouts in our home. Well worth it if you have technology that you don't want damaged or ruined because of fluctuating power.
