Another Excellent APC UPS

Purchased this via the TRADE-UPS program to replace an older APC model. As excepted it works great providing backup to equipment in our TV room. This is especially important for the DVR as we have frequent power failures (our electric company is run by the US Federal Government).
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Backup Pro 1300 is the ultimate unit for home use. Power smoothing, battery backup, lightening protection. It doesn't get any better than this!

BR1300G is best UPS ever!

I purchased this a few years ago. Recently, it started chirping letting me know that the battery needed to be replaced. Went on the web site, ordered the correct battery and installed it today (09/04/2015). Outstanding UPS for home office use with it being small, LCD display, and outstanding catching the voltage or frequency change to start the battery back-up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Reliable as always

My previous APC UPS died in the line of duty - protecting a couple of high-end pc's. It was still good for a trade-in.

APC 1300

I purchased the 1300 to protect my PC from electrical malfunctions. It has multiple outlets for all my needs. I am very happy with the purchase.

Does not work with a Mac Pro Tower

I called APC directly to find out which Backup I should use with a Mac Pro tower. This one was recommended. It has simulated sine wave. You need TRUE sine wave to let your Mac go to sleep. Solution was to leave my computer fans and everything running 24/7. Not quite energy saving is it?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for taking the time to review our BR1300G. We appreciate the feedback. In general terms, our Back-UPS Pro units are compatible with Mac systems as long as they are appropriately sized. However, if a Mac system does require a pure sine wave at all times, then one of our Smart-UPS would be the best option. This should have been mentioned by our team member during the call and we apologize this did not happen. We will make sure our agents are clear on this moving forward.
