Watched the seven-part series and will buy the dvds.
But why do we have to wait soooo long?
My vhs tape will be worn out. Everyone was great in this
and I loved the verbal back and forth by all. The ending
was atleast a box of tissues worth. Just terrific.
Have read the book and am reading Abigail's bio. Have
also read some of their letters to each other on Masshist.com. Some great stuff!
I would recommend this to a friend!

All around one of the greatest mini series this year. You miss it your going to miss out on the water cooler talk. I recommend this along with the book.
What's great about it: Great acting...Great writing...Great plot (based on a Great book by a great author)
What's not so great: NONE!!!!!

Fantastic Purchase

Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney head up the cast of this HBO hit "John Adams". From the colonial deterrence to the Revolutionary War and beyond, I truly felt absorbed in the plot and drama throughout the entire miniseries. Mr. Giamatti has never disappointed me before in a movie or miniseries (Cinderella Man, Sideways, The Illusionist--he even helped make Lady in the Water passable) and his portrayal of John Adams was equally satisfying. Director Tom Hooper did a fantastic job as well--a purchase worth every penny.
What's great about it: Fantastic feel to it thanks to the great cast and soundtrack
What's not so great: Can feel just a little dragged on from time to time
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my favorite Paul Giamatti performance. I generally like him anyway, but it was quite remarkable how his speech pattern and style changed to fit the character.
The movie does a good job of bringing history to life in both the acting and story. Tons of emotion too.
What's great about it: The acting and historical info is great. Amazing story of our country's history.
What's not so great: NA

Excellent adaptation of David McCullough's biography of our 2nd President. Showcases the actions that sparked the birth of our nation, creation of the Declaration of Independenc, diplomatic, as well as family triumphs and failures. Acting, set design, script, and costumes help establish the time and place; makes you feel as though you are eavesdropping on famous people like Ben Franklin, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, John & Abigail Adams, etc.
What's great about it: Everything!
What's not so great: It's a mini-series so time is compressed and not all historical figures have a place in the series.

Based on the writings of David McCullough, this HBO miniseries is a wonderful example of historical fiction. This is one of the better series I've seen.
