The print quality is very good. However, the whole thing shakes so bad when it is printing that the entire desk shakes as well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The overall performance is good. But when changing from paper printing to CD printing, the inseert of the tray is a little bit diffucult.
It is more convenience with my older RX595 to change from paper printing to cd printing.

Printer helps create professional looking DVDs but uses expensive cartridges too quickly. Product has to be reinstalled each time new cartridges added to recognize update. Very inconvenient.

Problem with supply discount

Just installed unit and wanted to get 10% off ink supplies. Store would not recognize code I was given. After 30 minutes on phone Eric could not make my code work but gave me 12% discount. Over the phone I won't get email tracking of order.

we only use this printer to print on cds. I don't even think we have used it on paper but the quality is outstanding. the only thing is that we had a lot of problems with the printer registering when the cd tray is on. and it took a while for us to figure this out. the message on the computer always shows there is no ink. so we were messing with the ink cartriges for a long time, hours and hours, throughout different days. I really don't have much time to be playing with a printer. so I would try whenever I had time until we realized it was the try. So basically it only works whenever wants to. so what I did last was to remove the software and reinstall it and that seemed to work. We'll see! I read lots of reviews before buying and nobody seemed to have this problem, so if you ask me I would buy it again hoping this problem was one in a million. the quality and speed is amazing considering the price of this printerl.

If you want a no thrills printer this is the one to buy. All it does is print cd's and photos, letters, etc. There is no memory card or usb ports.or display, no photo editing, but for the price it's a great deal. I bought this printer mainly for printing cd's and it does a wonderful job. The cd print program is very easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've been using Epson printers for at keast 20 years now.
I was always satisfied with their performance.
With the Artisan 50 I am very disapointed because I bought it especialy to print on CD & DVD's and that part does not work that well.
For normal printing duties the printer is Okee.

Right Out Of The Box

This is my second Epson printer. The first was a Stylus Photo 900 I used it hard for 10 years printing photos, CD's and everything I could think of. The Artisan 50 took up right where the old one finished. I love being able to print directly on to CD's and having it look very professional. I also appreciate the advance in ink technology with the Claria hi def ink. I look forward to many years of quality work from this printer. a very satisfied Epson customer.
