It's easy to get lost in the advance of technology

When I first purchased my Epson Artisan 50 Inkjet Printer, it seemed to do a reasonably good job, but by no means could it produce the quality images I was able to get with my old and burnt out Epson Stylus Photo R800. The R800 produced consistently great color renditions of what I wanted in my prints. On the other hand, the Artisan 50 worked really well for my custom greeting cards. Other than that, I could never get any Epson paper, matte or glossy, to reproduce good color. Far too often my prints looked too dark and muddy with the Artisan 50.
Prior to using any printer, I calibrate my monitor and use that profile in Adobe Photoshop and also use that profile for my printers. Unfortunately, these days, not much in the ways of printers can match what I was able to get out of older printers.
What I'm seeing is that there is always a race to manufacture or produce new products and applications, but hardly ever do they work well together. I believe that everyone needs to be on the same page when it comes to creating an app to work properly with new products like printers.
In the past, backwards compatibility went a long ways. Today, one is lucky to find anything that works backwards compatible for more than a couple years. With that said, where is the incentive to want to purchase new products?

If It's Epson, It has To Be Good!

My recently purchased Epson Artisan 50 is still in the box, but being an Epson, I have total confidence that I have purchased the best.
Having been a digital photographer for many years, I have owned printers from other manufacturers. My Epson printers have always delivered the very best images. There is nothing like experience.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unbelievable

I was psyched when I ordered this printer and have been moderately pleased with its performance and printing quality overall. But, when trying to print a t-shirt transfer for a t-shirt I was planning on giving a friend for his birthday discoverd this printer doesn't have the capability to do so. I thought it was a giventhat all printers could print transfers. My advice is there are plenty of other printers out there in this price range. Buy something else!

This is printer does not have blue tooth so it does not fit my application for a printer. I also like having a glass for copying/scanning. I am getting rid of it today.

Missing USB cable

I got very sad when I could not make the printer work because it didn't come w/ a USB cable. That right there blew it for us. They've never said in the instructions I read that we would need a cable that DOESN'T come with the printer. Lame
