this is a great printer. it is fast and it prints great pictures. for the price it can't be beat.

I have only had my printer for a month but so far I like it. I haven't done any printing of photos, CDs or DVDs though so can't speak to that.

My Photo 1400 died - very sad about that - wish I could have saved it. Tried another brand because I was mad that the 1400 didn't last more than 2 years. Hated the other brand. Decided to go back to old faithful brand - Epson. I like the Artisan 50 - nice printer - good prints. Still need to test out some more photos but so far, I'm satisfied and hope it doesn't die on me at the 2 year mark.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've only used it once so far, but the printer produces high quality prints and I was able to print my wedding invitation envelopes perfectly, which are no-bend, 160 pound. Not one printer I sent these envelopes to could print them, but this printer handled them beautifully!

The Artisan 50 Ink Jet Printer is excellent for photos and for most prints. But for my work that is pen and ink washed in with color or my cartoon drawings that are composed of colored pencil or markers this printer was not good for me. Come to find out this printer(Artisan 50) is die based ink so I went back to my tried and true Epson c88 that is pigment based ink. One thing I can say I will never use any other printer than the Epsons they are so wonderful. The Epson company itseslf has been very supportive and helpful.
