I use the Artisan 50 mainly to print DVDs Works great. My discs look very 'professional' Very happy with the printer.--Herb

Quality Photo Prints

i purchased the artisan 50 so i could print out photos of our newborn for family members and for her baby book. all i have owned in the past were epson printers for color prints so i had a gut feeling to stick with them and this printer does not disappoint. the prints are fast and amazing quality and the software that comes with actually works great unlike many companies software that is useless other than to junk up your computer. i definitely recommend this for any type of photo printing. i however will not use this for any text printing as i have a small laser jet so i cannot help with how fast or how much ink is used during that, but for photos or color prints this is great

Goodbye stick-on CD labels. This printer makes it so easy to do beautiful full colour CD/DVD labels. I just followed the easy to read instructions and that was it.
Best news, I got it just as they went on sale.

As the proud owner of two color-laser jet printers, I needed an ink-jet to print the labels on Archival GOLD CDs, which have a printable surface. I ordered it on the Internet, and the printer arrived in a few days, and I installed it. A very simple process. I then used the PRINT CD software to create the labels. A good editor, overall, although I initially had trouble getting the pesky "Arch" titles to print at the radii I wanted. Inserting the CDs, and printing them was about as simple as it could be. The results looked OUTSTANDING! I did a couple of dozen CDs. It takes 1 to 2 minutes to print a CD. And I feared it was gulping ink. But I checked the ink status at the end of the run, and none of the five cartridges showed any use at all.

Durability and great output

I've owned a half-dozen Epson printers and each one is better than the previous generation, which is a high bar to clear. I hope the company never chooses to compromise on the standards that have given me such an excellent user experience for years.

Good little printer

My big printer is the Epson 3800 which I love. I bought the Artisan 50 for the 'everyday' printing I need to do. So far, it's a champ, fairly quiet, quick and easy to run. Set up was easy (If you read the instructions of course...) doesn't take up much room. It's an all around good pick.
