Very Disappointed

I purchased this to go on vacation . I've owned Canon products my whole life, F1 ,FTB , recorder and another digital SD 550 . The picture quality with this camera does not live up to name . I compared photos of this with my SD550 and they aren't even close . Would not recommend this to anyone . The popup flash is also annoying .
Pros: good battery life, Bright LCD
Cons: Poor image quality, popup flash

Nice Point and Shot

I just bought this camera and I'm still learning its virtues, but so far I like it a lot. Controls are easy to understand and intuitive. I wish the flash would not come up all the time as it interferes with my positioning of my left hand, but I hope to get used to it! The USB port cover seems very flimsy, it seems like it will break at any time (hopefuly while it is still under warranty!).
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance
Cons: Heavy/Bulky, Flimsy Construction

THIS IS MY FIRST DIGITAL CAMERA.I BOUGHT A MEMORY CARD AND TOOK 968 PICS THE 1ST WEEK I OWNED IT.IT'S EASY TO USE,AND TAKES FANTASTIC PICS.TAKES MOVIES IN HD.PERFECT
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Disappointed

I am very disappointed in image quality. I liked the 12X zoom and I thought 12MG pixels wouild give me a sharp quality pictures. After took 50 pictures and compared them with my old Minolta G500, which has only 5MG pixels, image quality is much poorer, un-true color. I'm going to return it.

But what about image quality? Just awful! I had better results even with my first digital camera. The photos are really grainy and CANON should seriously consider about that.

Worst Purchase Ever

I've purchased this camera recently and the pop up flash is really irritating. And the picture quality is really bad in indoor. It fails to get details in a picture...But the zoom is really good. But won't be able to take a clear picture at 12X zoom. It hard to figure out a person's face at 12X zoom. The video recording quality isn't that good either, but takes a lot of space though. And the manual settings are really sad where in you won't get a good picture even you are a techie....So AUTO will give a reasonable picture, but the price is too much though.. Guess if the camera had an option of RAW image then it could have been a little worth...Handling this camera is little difficult it may easily fall off from your hand....All I can say is that they need to improve the picture quality and details in the picture which is missing in this camera.....

I searched and searched and thought the reviews must have been wrong becuase in the store this camera seemed so cool. First off I am not an expert, I haven't owned a camera for years so maybe this camera was too advanced for me? I hated the LCD screen because it was not clear and it smudged as soon as I took it out of the box and I couldn't get it clean again. It worried me, the LCD did not seem durable. It was not easy to hold and was a little heavy. I took it back. Since then I bought the SX110IS and I love it. It is easy to hold and the LCD is very bright and clear and has not smudged a bit! It seems much more durable. I purchase it, put the batteries in and started shooting photos and video without even opening the instructions. Its a much nicer camera to me with about the same features; at least the features that are imprortant to me. And it's cheaper. I expected so much more out of the SX200 for a camera that costs this much.
Cons: Difficult to use, Poor image quality, Heavy/Bulky, lcd smudges easy, lcd hard to clean stays dirty, not easy to grip
