So Far Looks Great

I just recieved the camera and it work great. The images seem really detaied and color very vivid. The optical zoom is very sharp and when zooming into the image during editing, you can see very finite detail. The flash is is very bright when you need to shoot in doors any distance. The only thing that I wish there was a non-slip surface and a better strap to keep it more secure on my hand. I am going to go on a Honeymoon to St. Lucia and hope to capture good photos with it.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, good battery life, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wish I had this camera 3 yrs ago...

I have had this camera for two and a half months now. I take lots of pictures everyday of everything.
I didn't like it at first. Kinda bulky, but with every photo op' found that the pictures came out better than my last camera.
More features(more optical zoom, more mega pixels, better image stabilizer ...) than my other point and shoot and costs were the same.
I pick this one because I like the simple "Point and Shoot" design over the big SLR's. The 12x optical zoom is the real difference(add a tripod and the digital zoom, WOW).
I was at a Dallas Cowboys open training a few years back and took those pictures with my old camera and wish I had the sx200is with me back then
I only wish the SX200is had an Eyepiece(for bright lighted areas) other than that I am very happy.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Most Powerful Compact Camera
on October 18, 2009

I bought my Canon SX200 IS about one month ago. I have really used every setting in the camera and I have to say it is the most powerful compact camera I have ever used. Prior to buying this camera I had a 3 mega pixel kodak that gave me nothing but problems, and my other camera is a Canon EOS Rebel K2 Camera, I still use this camera but it is just big and bulky and I have to carry film everywhere I go. The SX200 replaced my old Kodak digital camera. I am going to Europe this summer and I needed something smaller that had good battery life and very high quality photos, but still didn't skimp on zoom. This is the camera that I bought and I couldn't be happier. This camera has a very long lasting rechargable battery even when you're shooting HD video. The zoom is just unmatched by any other camera on the market today, with 12 times optical zoom and a total zoom of 48 times zoom total including the digital zoom. The large display screen is great and the scroll wheel on the right side makes it easy to scroll through your pictures. I really like the color swap and color accent I thought that these features wouldn't work good, but they work great and I use them very often. This camera isn't the lightest camera, but, come on it has a 12x zoom so it is pretty light for it's size. This camera is very quick it doesn't take forever to take a picture with it. The features and settings are great you came use this camera as a fully auto camera or as a mostly manual camera, it also has very helpful settings for night, indoors, snow, landscape, and many others. This camera seems durable but then again it has only been one month so....... I can't really tell. The only thing that I don't like is the pop up flash, because it pops up weather or not you're actually using it; so it atracts alot of attention in museums and other public places.
Overall I really like this camera it has great features, it looks great, the zoom is really useful, it has a good battery life, it seems pretty durable, it is easy to use, and it has awesome image quality. I will really enjoy taking pictures on my trip to Europe this summer on this great camera. Thank you Canon.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

My husband bought the camera for me and I love it. It is easy to use and it takes great pictures. The LCD is bright and clear. The battery lasts a long time. I dropped the camera a month after I got it and had to send it in to get repaired. The service was the greatest. Every step of the way they walked me through the whole process. Wonderful customer service. I had to pay for the repair, but the cost was worth it and it was my fault that I dropped it. For the price of this camera you can't go wrong. The only thing that I don't care about the camera is the flash pops up but I can live with it. I would recommend this camera to my family and friends. In fact its the best digital camera I have ever owned.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: the flash pops up

I love this camera. I like going to concerts and taking pictures of nephews and this camera keeps up with both. I did not miss one shot with the kids that are always running all over the place. At the concert the zoom was great. I had such clear pictures. It was a bit hard to take pictures in low light without a flash but they are not that bad. I love that its small and has a lot of zoom. It is a great camera.
Pros: Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life

I have been a die hard Canon customer since 35 mm days... I have had several digital Canons since the PowerShot S20 (I think) and this is the best. I would recommend to anybody that can read the book.... true story. The only bad thing, when you turn the camera on, the flash pops up, but you can learn to work around this... nothin' but a meatball!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: flash pops up when turned on

I have had the first digital powershot camera from canon when it first came out, when it was time to get another one, it had to be a canon. I've been looking and looking until I found this camera. I waited for a long time but it was worth it! This is a small pocket camera that has all the specification of the professional camera...I love it! I can't stop taking pictures! I've been posting my pictures on facebook and everyone has been commenting about the high definition and clarity of my pictures...thanks!
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

Nice Camera

The biggest drawback is the lack of a view finder. this needs to be incorporated in the next generation PowerShot SX200 IS. The sun blocks or does not allow a true look at the screen when taking a pictures outside. The picture quality is excellent. Great zoom! The repeat picture taking is slow. You must wait for the camera to reset.
Pros: easy to use, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, durable
Cons: Dim LCD
