The price was right and I always wanted one. I liked the fact it had rechargeable batteries. All I had to do was place a USB connector to it and plug it in.
It was a bit difficult for me to program it but then again I'm not the sharpest guy around when it comes to electronics so don't let that be a downer for you.

A good choice for a universal remote

The 700 is a nice remote. I had an older Harmony remote. the setup of the remote was simple and it works great. It has rechargeable batteries which is nice. I do like the fact when you move the remote the back light of the keys comes on automatically. One thing to note the keys below the screen are the only ones backlit., If you get this remote on sale it is a good deal. Remember it only supports 8 devices if you have more you will need to look to a different model.

Easy set up works great

This is my second Harmony remote. The first was a gift that lasted more than 10 years and still works although the buttons are getting harder to push. The new remote is a breeze to set up, just tell it what components you have and what ports your connected to and its done. Very easy to use requires no learning. Two things I would like to see. Move the key pad to make it easier to directly change channels with one hand (important if you have satellite TV and the second is extend the timeout. The unit uses rechargeable batteries that last according to Logitech for a very long time on a single charge. While I have not recharged them in 2 months of use I noticed that the unit does not respond to the first touch of most function buttons (guide, last channel etc.) because it is powered off and must first power on then it will accept the command. Small issue but somewhat annoying.

This is my fourth Logitech Universal Remote. (They are all still in service and function perfectly, each one controlling separate sets of devices in separate rooms or residences.) I love the Logitech setup program, especially the way you set them up to identify your devices and how you use them. (I have never added a device that couldn't be found in the Logitech data base.) Once the remote is set up it works without stuttering or producing other anomalies.
The only complaint I have is that any given computer seems to let you set up only one remote. So you have to keep track of which computer is tied to which remote should you ever wish to change its settings.
