This is a replacement for my old Harmony remote, so set up was a snap, I just went in to the software, and added the remote. The computer loaded everything up, and I was good to go. the original set wasn't hard either, just tell the computer what you have and it will find the right codes for it. once it does you can customize it how you like for most used buttons and things like that. The color screen is nice but not really needed. This new unit uses 2 AA batteries where the old one used 4 AAAs. I think this is the reason it eats batteries. the ones that came with the unit are passable, but I got more use out of store bought rechargeables, and charging them in an external charger. Not only is it faster that way, but they do last longer. the built in charger take about 3hrs, too long if your watching TV right then. I also keep a spare set on hand ready to go as this unit gives you little or no warning the batteries are getting low. It does however get slow to respond when your getting close. If your an old Harmony user you will notice that the extra "hump" on the bottom of the remote is gone. it used to annoy me that it was there, now I miss it as the new doesn't have it. the "hump" was an extra bump on the bottom of the remote in front of the battery compartment, it made holding the remote to push buttons higher up easier. it wasn't attractive but it worked really well.
Overall its a good remote, and nothing here is a deal breaker for me.
What's great about it: easiest univerasl remote you will ever buy
What's not so great: short battery life, only 2 activites on the main screen

This remote is awesome. It was easy to setup even with my off brand TV (Insignia). It is completely customizable and easy to program through the web interface. Love that it is rechargeable. The customizable buttons and ability to learn from my original remotes is simply sweeeeeet! The backlighting activates simply on motion, not when a button is pressed. Awesome. I just wish the activity buttons on the top were also backlit.
Only thing I have not figured out how to do is to have it exit the menu on my tv when it needs to change inputs. I'm sure it can be done but I just haven't figured out how to do it yet.
I will never be without a Logitech Harmony remote ever again. It is the perfect compliment to my man cave.
What's great about it: Everything!
What's not so great: Nothing. It rocks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Setup took some time but was not that difficult and once set up, the remote works great. I am very satisfied with the purchase. The battery life seemed short, but that was with the batteries that came with the unit. More time will tell.
What's great about it: Convenience/adaptability to multiple configurations

This is my second Harmony universal remote. The first one lasted three years then the black and white display died. Thought I would give this one a try. Does everything I need. Do enjoy the one button turn on for most activities. I have even programmed a couple of the general purpose buttons to do some setup switching on the HD TV. The display will stay lit up as long as you are holding it and moving. There is a motion sensor in it to turn the display on when it senses motion. Good to have so you don't need to find the back light button to see the display. Set up was not to difficult with the web site help.
What's great about it: Controls several devices with one button push

This remote replaced another Logitech Harmony remote that died after 7 years. Easy to set up and it found al my electronic equipment on the first try. Love the charging feature (USB) and don't have to worry about batteries anymore.

I've used the Harmony 700 for about two months. It is easy to set-up and to use. The "Help" feature is very useful in solving programming issues. Some buttons can be customized to the user's needs. The display also illuminates on user movement.
The only negatives I found were battery life (the very short warning time before the batteries must be charged) and the sensitive of the number buttons used to change channels.
What's great about it: Functionality
What's not so great: Battery Life (short warning for recharge)

One remote to rule then all, and one remote to bind them. After an easy, intuitive set up on a computer, this remote will take care of all your devices, And help you troubleshoot when there is a problem. I've had a Harmony remote for years, and am very excited about this rechargeable one!

This is our second one. Now the wife and I both have one. It does everything that had hoped for in a universal remote. That was especially true when I found the adapter to control the PS3 station. The first one was a gift from my wife and she included programming from the Geek Squad. When I got the adapter for the PS3 and needed to add that to the remote I found out how little I knew. Anyway, when I bought the new one I also added programming from the Geek Squad and they fixed mine as well. Harmony as a whole makes great equipment from remotes to mice, you can't do better.
What's great about it: Operates everything I've got.
What's not so great: Can be a little tricky to set up (or maybe it's just me).
