I had tried an earlier generation universal remote and could never get it to work right. The Logitech Harmony 700 was easy to program via my computer....about 15 minutes from the time I opened the box until it was fully functional. The "how to use" video was great, too. Best of all, we went from having 6 remotes on our coffee table to one....and it works great. Someone really thought-through this product and the programming process!
What's great about it: Easy to program. Works great.
What's not so great: No misses or complaints of any kind.

I have an old Logitech remote that I have enjoyed for a few years. I got this one as a present for a friend and programmed it for him. Other than needing to know which input goes to what (not intuitively obvious for someone who didn't set his system up in the first place), it was easy to program and it works really well.
I like the fact that when the AA rechargeable batteries that came with it reach the end of their useful life, you can simply buy the same type of rechargeable batteries anywhere. I also like the way it plugs in for charging vs the tray my old unit sits in: that gets tricky to use over time.
I might get one of these for myself, its a really good unit.

I have the typical home entertainment center. All different brands some very old and some really new. Vizio TV Sony Sterio Hitachi VCR - Yeah I still have one of those for the few tapes left PS3 Cable DVR box
I was afraid that this would not have the ability to control the VCR but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it does.
Setup is super easy but takes a little time. And with the Activity buttons using this remote is a dream and super easy for me. My Girlfriend even called me one day to tell me she didn't need help figuring out how to get the TV to work as the remote helped her fix the problem. NOW THATS A BIG DEAL!
I also picked up the PS3 box for this and it works amazing with the PS3 as well. Forget the Sony PS3 BT remote if you have a full entertainment setup.
This remote is so smart is turns off the devices you do not need and turns on the ones you do
What's great about it: Programable activity buttons that turn on all the devices you need, Super easy help feature when things go wrong

I had a previous version of this remote that died after 7 years. This one set up very easily using the last one for a guide. DO NOT PAY THE $125 set up if you are replacing an old one. It is very easy to do yourself.

This remote is a nice upgrade from a previous Harmony product. If you don't mind computer setup (which I find much easier), then this is a great remote. Works especially well for "lost" remotes, since the on-line setup has all functions of almost every product, removing the need to "learn" new commands. Love the rechargeable batteries!
What's great about it: easy setup, full function, rechargeable

We saw one @ our daughter/son-in-law's house at Christmas and was impressed how you could control all your devices, even our Squeezebox internet radios with one remote. I am very pleased with how it works. There a slight learning curve, but it's worth it in the end. You just have to be sure to keep pointing it at the devices until they all come on, or they miss the signal. It will turn on 3 devices at a time. I'm glad I got it.
What's great about it: Replaces 6 of my remotes.
What's not so great: Sometimes I forget to keep pointing it until they all come on.
