I got this unit on Black Friday and the price was acceptable. The functionality is great and the rechargeable battery is a plus if you use it often.

Cons:
Interface in the controller could be improved.
Complex command sequences often fail because of pauses/wait times for the controlled equipment to respond.

In any case it can replace any remote control at home (and I have a lot) so as a product is excellent

Great Remote

This is the best remote I have ever owned. Setup was easy in my PC and it works with all my devices. The best part is not only one remote for all my devices but one button turns everything on and to the correct device setting. It has made things simple for my in laws and my kids. It was very difficult as I have a tv the cable box for changing stations and a stereo for sound. To turn it all on and control with different remotes was crazy. This is a great remote at a very reasonable price. I am not a big fan of the rechargeable battery but I just switched them out for double As and it works great.

This is the easiest remote to program I have ever used. Connect it to your computer, go to the website and answer a few questions and it programs everything you want to do automatically. If there is a problem with the operation of a component, just click HELP and the remote fixes everything.

Great solid remote

Great remote. Simple to program and understand. Very good price right now. Best value right now. The only complaint I have is that not all the hard buttons are backlighted. The activity buttons at the top are not backlighted. Strange!
I like the remote and I bought two more for the grandfathers in the family.

Quirky, but works well when set.

I have two of these and the first one was up and running in a few short moments. However, I went to make a change to the configuration several weeks/months later and it was a horror show trying to get my computer to sync the remote. My computer was recognizing the device, but the harmony software was simply not initiating the sync. I eventually had to hard reset the remote and sync from there.
Then I added a second 700 for my bedroom and that failed to recognize the remote at all. I was forced to boot the remote into some kind of safe mode which took forever to find on the internet.
Essentially, you need to know what you your way around a computer if you are getting one of these remotes.
If you are expecting Apple style plug and play behavior, forget it.
These are my only sophisticated universal remotes, so I have nothing to compare it to.
