I loved this item and told everone about it. I was sure of all 5 stars on everything until I went into the water in August and water got inside

In August (3 months ago) and water got inside. all ports and back were securely closed. 13 months after a purchased it. I feel that this was not right

Overall the phone is really good when it comes to performance, display, and features. If you're looking for a good phone to use overall and run heavy or multiple applications then this phone is good for you. The color is so cool and I get lots of compliment from it and they don't recognize it as a part of the S4 line. The only thing that kinda disappoints me is the camera on how it was reduced to 8mp instead of 12mp.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, sleek design, hardkeys
Cons: camera quality reduced compared to s4

Easily one of the worst phones that i have ever bought. The operating system is slow, and the phone freezes a lot. The battery is terrible, it barely lasts a single day. I dropped it from no more than 3 feet off of the ground and the entire screen shattered. I would not recommend this phone to anybody!
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, screen cracks

Would be perfect if the charging port worked well

I had to send the phone in for a warranty replacement after about 6 months because the charging port broke somehow and it wouldn't charge. It would charge intermittently --Sometime no problem sometimes no matter what I did I couldn't get it to charge and I'd be without a phone for the day.
Sadly after about another month of having the new phone the same thing happened. I didn't want to waste time doing it again so I just deal with it which means I have to jiggle the plug in when I want to charge.
Other that that I love the phone.
To try to write a realistic review I'll add in the other things that I don't like but don't think they should necessarily should make you not get this phone.
1. It only has one speaker and it's not very loud.
2. since the back piece is what keeps it waterproof it is difficult to get all snapped in.
3. Battery life is terrible but that could be related to my bad charging port.
4. The bezel chrome front edge gets scraped off.

Otherwise it is definitely as rugged as I need with young kids around.

Why did I wait?

This phone is beyond what I expected. I was an avid iPhone user and was worried about the transition to a "non-iPhone". The phone is so user friendly. Easy to use, easy to learn. I quickly became very comfortable with the phone. I have the active because I am a clutz. My phone is a little dinged up on the edges, but there is no problem with the phone. My next phone will be a samsung.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, user friendly

This product has some of the best features

My husband and I just bought the Samsung 4 active phone and we couldn't be happier with it.
The phone has many great features on it and we are still learning the phone and finding more. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and family members! I traded in my iphone 4 for this phone and don't regret it a bit. I will be staying with Samsung from here on out.

I just love the calendar app for scheduling appointments and important events. It has a reminder option and sends you an alert tone that is pleasant. I use this feature all of the time to manage alert me of important dates. I use it all of the time. I can schedule important times ahead of time, like paying my bills, important birthdays, etc.
