I purchased the Epson to replace my HP printer. Unlike the HP the Epson has a host of maintenance software/programs installed which hopefully will prevent the ink heads from clogging.

great at low volumes. Not so good for bass.

Great low volume system. Crisp highs, loud mids, and rich deep bass when volumes are low. However, crank it up and subwoofer is easily overpowered. Satellites sound great under 50% volume. Crank up the volume and you will immediately be headed back to the store to return these junk speakers.
If you listen primarily to rock music, you wont be disappointed. good rock style bass, perfect mids/highs (really, awesome). But if you like rap music, techno, dub step, etc. or music that requires lots of deep bass, this system is not for you.
If you listen at low volumes, then you will LOVE these speakers. They have clear, crisp highs, loud mids, and rich lows (at low volume). Far superior to any other speaker system. But... Try to blast the volume and forget it - bass is distorted, lots of rattle and the mid/highs become raspy. THD spec is 5% - noticeable right away...
If you like LOUD, house filing sound, like I do, then you should be looking elsewhere for speakers. These speakers DO NOT fit the bill.
What's great about it: crisp, clear, rich sound at low volumes
What's not so great: don't try to blast it. you'll be sorry..

I've waited since somewhere around 2002 to get these babies!!!
I was so very happy once I got them.
As everyone around here already knows, there is supposed to be a power button on the back of the woofer to turn these speakers on & off.
I looked 3 times already & don't see any place where an on/off switch is located on my system anywhere.
Oh well, no biggie. I figured that I could just unplug the system once I was done playing on my computer each day.
Boy, was I wrong. I suppose that I might've caused an electrical surge when I plugged my system in this morning because it made a sound & then there was no sound coming out of them at all. (The little green light on the left speaker doesn't light up, either).
I can't believe I did that. I've had these speakers for less than a week & now they're busted. I sure am glad that I bought that extended warranty-- though.
I place 1/2 the blame on myself for not using the switch to turn it on / off-- by the way, I've looked in the back of my subwoofer & I swear that there is no switch on it at all-- and-- I place the other 1/2 of the blame on Klipsch-- why did they make it so difficult to power up / power down the system in the first place?
I don't plan on telling Best Buy all of the details on how I fried my beloved Klipsch 2.1 system-- they don't need to know (everything) as long as I tell them that they don't power up anymore.
Could someone please tell me where the switch is? I've looked several times and it's no where to be found.
I'm contemplating on trading these for the Bose Companion® 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System-- for $100 more. It's a shame what happened-- I only wish that the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker System was much more reliable than what I've seen firsthand.
I don't know why-- but it seems that whenever anyone does decide to buy these speakers-- they end up taking a risk on having trouble-- some never have trouble, while others never seem to get these speakers to work properly (or for very long).
Because of what happened, I'm truly heart broken that I no longer have as high of an opinion of the value / reliability / practicality of Klipsch "Promedia" speakers-- of any kind...
What's great about it: Great Klipsch name. Small Footprint with room filling sound.
What's not so great: Not very reliable. Power switch not easily handy. Cost a lot to break so easily.

I got these speakers thinking they would be great. i down graded from a 5.1 stereo system needed more room. first off there is no off switch major pain in the butt especially if you have 5.1 head phones as myself. they can get loud enough to make your ear's bleed to the point the sound becomes distorted. They are a bit too loud for me. also they should use some other wire then just standard rca cable for the speakers. so if your eco friendly and aren't deaf then i would stay away from these also if you have arthritis as the controls are a little stubborn to turn.
What's great about it: loud
What's not so great: no off switch

This system even with its sub-woofer is not the best value for a moderate cost computer speaker system. The Bose Companion II speaker system has a sweeter more balanced sound for $50 less.
What's great about it: Looks and build quality
What's not so great: sound is good but not fantastic, pricey

Simple stereo system, cheap and easy to setup. Good for a computer system. Probably not useful as a primary sound system.

What's not so great: Not powerful enough for a primary room

Disappointing sound

First, I am well aware of the saying you get what you pay for but, in this case, I think I could have got better sound for cheaper. Or at the very least the same quality for cheaper. After reading all the rave reviews about the sound of these speakers I really had my hopes up. I really want to love these speakers, I do. But truth be told, my 10 year old Altec Lansing ACS 340's sound better than these. Unfortunately, based on reviews alone, I took a chance buying them without trying them first.because the display model was not working at the store.
With the exception of the base which is surprisingly nice for the size, rich with no busing or popping, everything sounds hollow and flat, no dimension at all. I plan to take these back.
What's great about it: Base is nice
What's not so great: Sound is flat

Not a good computer speaker set up for enthusiasts

I have bee through many computer speakers, the best I ever found were Boston Acoustics 5.1 but they are digital. It seems that most computers now are only using analog, so, when I got my new computer, My BA speakers were useless. However, in my home I have an entire Klipsch 7.1 surround set up, and it is the best I've ever heard. These are the same speakers most movie houses use, so I went in believing that the Klipsch speakers for computer would be just as good. I was wrong. They are not the worst, but they do not even compare to my BA set up. The bass can be good, @ times, however, over time, it will start to distort, and then so do the satellites. Also, another problem is most people have used these types of speakers before, and have a brain. Klipsch however, didn't realize that most people use the color coded set-up on the wires, to attach their speakers. This was a big mistake. Down towards the bottom of the page, they will finally tell you that the main satellite speaker has it's own power source, and that you should NOT plug the green speaker connecter into the GREEN sound card input. You will need to change, in your computer sound card file, one of the other outputs, I used the blue, that was some of the problem with the distortion, cracking, problem, but not all of it. I called Klipsch several times trying to get this issue resolved, to no avail, they blamed my brand new 2000.00 computer for this issue. I wish BA had an adaptor for DAC( digital to analog), but they told me awhile back they do not. I'm still looking around for one, and now that this has become more prevalent in the industry, I'm sure I can find one soon. When I do, I will stop using these, I'm past my return policy, so for me, I'm stuck. But I ran out every option in the book trying to fix this issue, and nothing. I play, record, and make my own music on studio one /2 and Cubase, so for me, this was important. I guess if your just looking to listen to music quietly, and real quality is not that important to you, then these will pass. I'm just not the type that likes things that "just pass". I hope this review will @ least help someone else from going thru the nightmare I did.
