excellent speakers for computers

i purchase these speakers just yesterday and immediately i fell in love with the sound. the only thing i didn't like is there are no on/off switch but other than that awesome speakers.
What's great about it: great sound for the price
What's not so great: no on/off button

This product is loud as other reviewers have indicated. However, it is NOT a high-fidelity system -- Expect some distortion. The lack of a power button is a huge design flaw.

Great sound, cheap parts

I purchased these speakers earlier this year and they truly do sound amazing, and the subwoofer was quite powerful and they seemed to be worth the cost. One day I was moving my computer to another room, so, moved the speakers to that room. I unplugged the subwoofer from the speakers while doing so. I'm by no means harsh with any of my possessions, especially electronics. When I went to go plug the speakers back into the subwoofer, it would not plug in all the way. The speakers get power, but the subwoofer doesn't do anything. I looked at the plug that goes into the subwoofer to find that one of the pins had somehow gotten broken. It was past my return date with Best Buy, and upon checking online, it isn't something Klipsch replaces under warranty. The only to fix it is to completely replace the control pod on the right speaker, which is only available as a $35 part from Klipsch. Reviews on their website and many other websites all talked about how cheap that subwoofer connection is and how Klipsch has known it was bad for years and has done nothing about it. I loved the speakers, but without the subwoofer they're entirely useless to me, and I'm not paying another $35 for a control pod after spending $120 on the speakers themselves.

The sound on these computer speakers are amazing. I have owned two pairs in the last few years. Only problem I see with these speakers is the volume control switch. Both sets that I have owned the volume switch has gone bad or malfunctions. This is a defect on Klipsch's part. I only hope they will resolved the issue. Until then I will not buy anymore of them.
What's great about it: The Sound is Amazing !
What's not so great: Volume Control Switch
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My brother was murdered on Dec. 16, 2010. His favorite song was "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock. I have been watching and listening to the video on YT, but just wanted awesome speakers for my computer so I could enjoy the sound while remembering my brother. I went online to BB and started reading the reviews about computer speakers and I was convinced that these speakers would suffice. I was right! I thank all those who have written reviews on these speakers. If you buy them, you won't be disappointed as set-up is a cinch! Sound quality is awesome!!!

This speaker set it amazing. The base is heavy and the the satellites crystal clear. I usually sit with the main volume at about 10%-15% and the base at about 30%..after that it gets obnoxious. The subwoofer is top of the line, shakes the room at less than 50% if the volume is also at about 50. Not a lot of wires to mess with which is a huge plus. Comes with a headphone jack if you need some quiet listening. Overall, amazing amazing amazing. You won't regret purchasing these and at about 160 it's an absolute steal.
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: Base distorts ever so slightly if main volume and base are pushed above 70%.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just a note guys. If your looking for some great speakers with subwoofer going...these speakers kick butt for any pc !
But...
If you mess up the plug that goes to the subwoofer, no shop can fix and you will find no replacement parts anyplace. The factory in Germany has no help either and your screwed.
Buyer beware..take good care of the plug to sub woofer cuz it has 6 wires. I had these at 2 pc shops already and nobody is able to get parts or fix it.
Just a heads up so I logged in just to tell you all this.
I used these speakers for about 2 years and now I'm stuffed and no parts anyplace.
What's great about it: great sound !
What's not so great: no parts available if it breaks
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I decided many years ago to never allow anything other than my own ears to decide whether speakers are good or not... and my ears have generally served me very well; I broke that rule, however, in buying these speakers, as I had to make a quick decision, and there were none available in the store to listen to. I was taken in by the "rave" reviews.
If you want to produce the sort of bone-jarring low frequencies you experience in a movie theater--the kind of vibrations you feel in your chest more than your ears--you'll likely be very happy. If you want to reproduce the sort of pure, authentic sound you'd experience at the Morton Meyerson Symphony Center (Dallas), you may have a harder time.
Initially, I was disappointed, but after much time spent "tweeking" the Equalizer settings on my music player, I finally came up with a sound I feel happy with.... There's not that much to it. Basically, I have flat setting, above 220 Hz, but have the low frequencies substantially dampened. If you try to accomplish this just with the "Subwoofer" control on the speakers, you lose these frequencies completely. I want those frequencies, but not the "thumpiness".
Aside from the exaggerated bass, they produce a clean sound. I'll keep playing with the Equalizer, as I think there's still room for improvement. .
What's great about it: Clean sound.
What's not so great: Thumpy bass; hard to balance.
I would recommend this to a friend!
