Blast from the past

Its good, but not great! Three stars because its not a perfect 2.1 setup for todays timeline. Klipsch can make good products, but this unit feel like its from 2003! I used it for a week and was not sold completely. Some things that turned me away that it runs very hot all the time even when you are playing audio, consumes about 16-17 watts when idle, does not have a power saving mode, speaker wires are not detachable, and 3 inch driver feels too small for what it can do. Something I did like, its meant for desktop setup, save on space with smaller footprint, can get very loud without noticeable distortion, subwoofer can produce very low frequency (amazing), but still i was not sold on the item completely.
Pros: Clarity, Subwoofer, frequency range, superb sound quality
Cons: No optical input, No power saving or standby mode, Not energy efficient, Too sharp for my taste, runs really hot
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The sound is simply superb, especially the bass. I have owned three sets, the first two lived less than a year each and they simply die, no sound at all, but the sound is so good i just keep buying them. I'm on my third set now and I've had them about a year, if they die I'll buy another set. Maybe I'm crazy but the sound is so much better that anything else I'll just keep trying.

Product NOT tested before leaving factory!

TL;DR: Speakers sound amazing. Minus one star for being defective from the factory. Testing the product would have caught a major design flaw! When I got this, everything about the product was fresh, from the packaging, to that "new product" smell. The control pod is small and easily removable so you can place the speakers on your desk and hide the pod where it won't detract from the visual quality of these speakers. However this control pod was the source of a major headache for me which, despite the amazing audio I now have, I am forced to remove a star from my review. When I got everything hooked up, I had no audio from the left speaker! I read several forum posts and searched online and the only solution people had was to just get a new control pod. This wasn't really an option for me, so I did what I would not recommend anyone else do: I disassembled the control pod and adjusted the wire connections inside so that the left audio channel would work again. Seems a loose wire was the issue. This should have come to me already tested and fixed...and maybe it was, but a slight bump should not have broken the wire connection inside the pod. Klipsch engineers, if you're reading this, solder the cable inside the control pod instead of relying on a pin connector. It will help prevent headaches like the one I experienced!
Pros: Easy to setup
Cons: Not thoroughly tested before shipping

Started clicking early on.

It's great sounding, the reason I reviewed it so low is due to how early on it started having audio issues, I don't listen to them loud (neighbors are elderly) and because of this I tend to use my headphones. About a week ago I was cleaning and had them at about 30%-40 volume (no pre amp, no gain, simply the output from speakers to pc) and they started clicking, I turned it down to about 20% and the clicking stopped, anytime I use them over ~30% they start to get fuzzy. I've now had to switch to my old speakers but still use the sub. Not sure if there's any kind of warranty but just not worth the hassle. I will say this could have just been a bad speaker but this was my experience using the Klipsch pro media 2.1 speakers
Pros: Clear sound, Great bass, Quality parts, Well priced
Cons: Cable set up, Started clicking early on light use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Promedia 2.1 - Best Speakers Ever...!!!

Best system I have ever owned and will never buy another brand for the budget. My original system blew somehow, so I recommended they add a power-line fuse. CS is great they replaced the unit immediately with a better one even. Love these guys....great product, solid CS and solid product service.
Pros: Not much can be improved....great system
Cons: Powerline fuse is needed and better bass speaker
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought these about 4 years ago, and have been enjoying them since. Great sound/power for a set of computer speakers (can easily fill a room with music), and the quality seems higher than competitors.
