I bought the promedia system and just loved it. Suddenly it did not work anymore. I have been trying for a month to update the drivers and have not been successful.

All of my speakers at home are Klipsch and they sound fantastic. Some better that others. Since Klipsch is my trusted brand, I decided to give the PC speakers a try. The sound is good but not fantastic. May be I should give them a bit of time to break in, but then speakers being this small I doubt that they really need time to break. What really turns me off is that fact that it has a bright power light and there is no way to turn it off without unplugging the sub woofer. I never understood why manufacturer's never really care about putting top sound in a PC and many of these speakers claim to be THX which confuses a lot since they supposed to sound incredible great. I think THX is losing respect by putting their name on low grade speakers. Loud yes, but not clean.

I owned Klipsch Promedia 4.1 for 20 years or so, and loved them. They finally died, and are now discontinued, so I bought the Promedia 2.1 system. Sorry, but the quality is not there. I would not recommend the 2.1's for any serious music listening.
Pros: Easy to hook up.
Cons: Bass is muddy and loud.

satelites can't handle the subwoofer.

It's worth the money, but the satelites can't handle the watts of the sub. Mine is popping and crackling again after returning the system AGAIN. The sub still sounds great and still sounds decent if i turn it up loud enough. People say there isnt enough bang, well these are computer speakers people. if you want bang, go spend some real money on some crazy speakers then.
Pros: Good power
Cons: Not Durable

I don't think there are any other desktop speakers that even compare to these. I this set several years ago, around six or seven, and they absolutely amazing. I've recently uograded to using much largers speakers (two 15inch woofers, two 4inch mids and two 3inch tweeters) and I still use these for added punch. I don't think they have ever clipped or become distorted no matter how hard I pushed them. When I had just the 8inch woofer and the satellites the room already shook. I have a hard time believing anyone could ever be dissapointed in anyway with these. The only issue is the backplate if the woofer does get a bit hot, but I also tend to push it pretty hard. I can't really count that as a real downfall because despite it getting hot, I've never had an issue.
Pros: Attractive, Compact, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Good Audio, Incredible Low Frequency Performance
