Speakers stop working again

I replaced one speaker in my set a year in, then I had to replace the electrical potion that cost almost as much as the system and now the sound just completely stopped in the middle of a movie. I don't play them loud or hard. This would be 3 breaks of 2 systems. I have a JBL boom box from the 90's that have been played hard and is still functioning wonderfully. I love the sound but the cost of fixing and replacing parts is just not worth it really.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My friend bought had this for 10 years and he gave it to me. I've had it for 2 years and still sounds amazing although the small speakers are not great but they are 12 years old but still work

Great Until They Stop Working

Used these speakers for 4 years until the subwoofer lost its volume literally overnight. It was booming and powerful one day and much reduced the next to the point where I had to turn the power level all the way up to hear any sort of bass at all. There are articles on the internet about how to maybe fix the subwoofer, but I dont have the patience to take apart the entire speaker subwoofer component. I honestly might just buy this speaker system again because it sounds awesome when everything is working properly and the price is pretty reasonable. Minus two stars for shorter than expected life of the subwoofer.
Pros: Great Sound, Powerful Subwoofer, Reasonably Priced
Cons: Subwoofer Didnt Last

Pretty disappointed

I was so excited to set this up in my office. The sound quality is great while in use. When not playing music you hear static noise, no matter what the volume is set to. Also, the only way to turn this off is by un-plugging it - no off button. Pretty disappointed.
Cons: No "off" button, Static noise when not playing music

Seems fine, but...

I so far like the speakers and subwoofer, but I wish when I turned down the volume that the knob also allowed me to turn the speaker system off. There is no off switch!!! Also, the speakers hook up in the back by bare wire instead of a plug in connection. It was easy but seem dated.
Pros: Seems to sound better than my old Harman Kardon
Cons: There is not an off switch which is annoying

Amazing Sound

Very good computer speakers. Very impressed with the sound quality when I connected to my Mac. I played all types of music to hear the frequency response and very impressed. The only thing that I noticed and you don't hear when using, only when silent is a minor hiss from the speakers. Feel free to crank the speakers, they won't disappoint.

Great sound. At very low volume, left speaker tends to drop off. On/Off switch is down low on the back side - I have to feel around for it every time.
