This lens doesn't have full compatibility with A77M2 and A99M2.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We understand that the A77M2 and A99M2 have restrictions over SAL552002 lens. Other lenses have limitations as well: http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/www/cscs/accessories/compatibility.php?area=gb&lang=en&mdl=ILCA-99M2&cat=7. If you want to have a camera that has fully compatible lenses, you may check out the Alpha
E-mount camera instead. We will forward this to the relevant department.
