the acting was superb along with the actors. one of the adaptations in my eyes. I am not too happy about waiting for the ultimate edition if that is even still coming like originally planned. I guess I'll have to wait and see! see this movie especially if you want to see what was taken out! I highly recommend it.
What's great about it: a great adaptation of the Graphic Novel!
What's not so great: not the Ultimate Edition which I'm waiting for!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just have to say that this film definitely lived up to my expectations. Just the opening credits alone (accompanied by Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'") is visually stunning. Zack Snyder truly immersed himself in the story of the graphic novel and managed to capture distinct details that I was happy to catch as I watched the film. This director's cut version includes even more footage which unfortunately was not shown in the theatrical version; including one of the novel's most significant events: the death of Hollis Mason's (Nite Owl I). Whether you have read the novel or not, you'll definitely enjoy this flick.
What's great about it: Great Cinematography, incredible soundtrack, excellent casting
What's not so great: Not much...maybe a little long
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was a great movie, much better than I expected. The acting was very good, considering there were no big name stars in this film. The director does a good job of getting you in touch with each character. There's lots of action, great special effects and imagery. This was a very impressive film! I would have to put this somewhere between Sin City and The Dark Knight. Fantastic movie, highly recommended!
What's great about it: Very entertaining!
What's not so great: Shows a little more of Dr. Manhattan than necessary.
I would recommend this to a friend!

For the person below me, the movie was actually 3 hours long not 2 as you said. So you may have missed some important parts.
What's great about it: Amazing visuals, acting, story.
What's not so great: You may not like it if you are expecting a traditional superhero movie. However I loved it.

Really great visuals. If you have a Blu Ray DVD, I would consider the Blu Ray version-- it is worth it. Some will love the movie, some will not. But for the genre, it is fantastic.
What's great about it: Excellent adaptation of comics. Not perfect, but could never be everything to everyone. Zack Snyder did a great job.
What's not so great: A little long, but if it was shorter, he would get accused of cutting too much out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Zack Snyder's adaptation of 'Watchmen' is finally here on DVD, and the overall package is pretty good, if a little skimpy. The movie itself was excellent, or at least I thought so, its ver independant from other super-hero flicks, and really sets itself apart with the gritty setting and bloody violence. The picture and audio are just amazing, they really raise the bar for what can be done on DVD. But outside of that, nothing. The special features are non-existant, no deleted scenes, documentary, yada yada yada. There isn't even a 2-Disc special edition! Just a one disc release with nothing but the movie. Its an obvious attempt to sucker you into getting the Watchmen Ultimate Collectors Edition this December, with all the special stuff one would want, but for now, we just have the movie. At least thats superb.
What's great about it: Picture and audio are outstanding, the movie itself is great
What's not so great: Extremely skimpy on content, no commentaries, documentaries, deleted scenes, zip, nilch, nada
I would recommend this to a friend!

I enjoyed the movie and I especially liked the Black Friday price. I know that it took me a while to view it but I'm a busy man. It received bad reviews, but I enjoyed the storyline. It went deeper than most superhero flicks.
What's great about it: Good movie, interesting plot
What's not so great: A little long
