I purchased this Wireless range Extender to replaced an extender that gave up on me after 6 years of decent performance. This extender was easy to setup and extended my wireless network all the way to the end of my backyard which I was not expecting to go that far. Price was reasonable and the performance of this extender is exceptional! Speed does not suffer one bit. No more blind spots in my backyard. Thank you Linksys for the RE2000 Dual Band Extender.
Thia is a good inexpensive 803.11n wifi extender. It works well,is easy to setup, and performs the extension of the network adaquately. It is not an N600 , since that would imply 600 mb thru put,, the dual band is also misleading, since you must choose either 5 or 2.5 ghz carrier and therefore you get a 20 or a 40 mhz bandwidth, you can not have both at the same time and therefore could not get 600 thruput.
I bought this a month ago, tried to use it as an extender and set it up, however, it actually made my problem worse and the internet connection was not as good. It actually picked up a slower connection and my computer connected to that instead of the stronger connection that my modem had. The end result was going through the trouble of returning the product and just still using my original modem.

Hi,
Thanks for the time you spent for this review. How far is the range extender from the router? You can try to move it somewhere and observe the connection. If it doesn’t help, you can send us an email at LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact information, location, and the link to this review.

purchased a refurbished Linksys RE2000 N600 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender. Was easy to setup and worked great for 48 hours. Tech support was completely unhelpful and refused to replace unit. Tried to save some money by purchasing a refurbished unit, and wound up wasting it.

Hi David,
We understand how you feel and we hope that you would give us the chance to improve your experience. Allow us to assist you in resolving the matter. You may send us an email at LinksysCares@linksys.com with the case number given by the Support team and the link to this review.
However, we also suggest that you perform a firmware update. After that, reset and configure the device again. You may download it here: http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=148493
The device does expand range, but creates interference on the network and is extremely unreliable, especially when streaming videos to a TV.

Hi, Rytawi,
It doesn't sound right that your RE2000 Range Extender is extremely unreliable and causing interference on your network. We'd appreciate if you will provide us more details about your current network setup so we can further isolate the root cause of this challenge. Email us your contact information and the link to this review at LinksysCares@linksys.com and we'll have one of our Escalation Engineers get this taken care of.
Little if any improvement for improving signal strength! At times 4 bars and other times at 5 bars but varies throughout the day or night.

Hi Swaney,
We appreciate your time in providing us a product review. There are several things we have to consider on why you're experiencing intermittent connection with your extender: physical obstruction and wireless interference could be the possible cause. Aside from upgrading the firmware, you can adjust the wireless settings of your router to resolve this challenge. You may also try to reposition the extender in an open space area far from your appliances but not too far from your router. If you need further assistance, you can email us your contact details at LinksysCares@linksys.com with the link back to this post. We'd be more than happy to provide further troubleshooting options.
