I used this wine bottle opener for the frist time after getting it for Christmas last year. The release button does not work. Now I have a cork stuck inside the wine bottle opener. The model number is FPSTBW8207-S
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Used infrequently, this appliance decided to separate itself from the cork screw itself. Pretty flimsy and poor quality. Made in China, enough said.

Only worked first time, when I tried to used it after 4 months, wouldn't work, wouldn't charge either and return window was already closed.

Destroys corks

The retract portion works but the down direction to get into the cork stopped working. A total waste of a purchase. But, before it stopped working, it destroys the cork and almost always leaves cork behind in the bottle. Unfortunately, we bought two and I have to continue to use the second one to justify the purchases Had intended the second one as a gift but would never give it to anyone.

Worked for 5 Years, Now Won't Stay Charged

I bought mine in 2015 and really liked it for five years. Easy to remove the foil, easy to remove the cork. Unfortunately, now it won't hold a charge. It will only open one bottle at most. I don't want to leave it plugged in all the time, and I'm sure even that wouldn't work eventually. It just won't hold a charge. They say they do not have a replacement battery, so it is essentially junk. So divide the cost by 5 and see if it is worth it to you to buy it. I still am glad I bought it because I have a hard time opening wine bottles. But it needs to be replaced every 5 years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wine opener only lasted 2 years

Lasted about 2 years. Quit charging. Never opened more than 5 bottles on a single charge. Can't find a replacement rechargeable battery.

Very Disappointed

My wife bought this at the end of June, 2020 (les than 6 months ago). Followed all directions re: charging and using, and unfortunately does not work to even get into the cork. We got it because my wife has very arthritic hands, but we have reverted to our old school cork screw which is very hard for her, and I can only use, so when not around, no wine for her. We are very disappointed as truly we thought this would help us, especially my wife.

Case material failing

We went to use the opener last night and the black portion of the case was failing. It was sticky and soiling our hands. The material (plastic?) appeared to be breaking down. It's very doubtful that it's something we did because the entire black part is sticky. We have had this unit for a number of years and has worked fine so that's why I give it a 2 rating. Really disappointing that we had to throw it away though.
