We have had for a few years. Unfortunately the black along the back has become sticky and gets all over your hands. Happening on the one at home and vacation home. Would recommend if they are designing outside without black rubber

If your wine opener is not turning on, it might be because the unit was not charged properly. We recommend to:
1.Plug one end of the adapter cord into the base of the recharging unit and the other end into a main socket.
2.Place the Electric Wine Opener into the recharging unit ensuring that it is firmly in position and that it is fully engaged with the recharging connection. It will take approximately 6-8 hours to recharge your electric wine opener.
3.When your Electric Wine Opener is fully recharged it can be used to open approximately 30 bottles.
Take note that: It has been noted that the Electric Wine Opener may experience problems with a small percentage of plastic/ synthetic corks and undersized corks, if in this case the cork should be removed manually.

If the above steps don't resolve your problem, we would love nothing more than to correct this issue and restore your faith in Oster®, as we have been manufacturing high quality products for decades and we expect them to last.

Great for about 12 months...then broke

We used this every time we opened a bottle. We loved it, but it broke literally a year a few days (which means it's out of warranty). would not recommend given this.

Loved it for 5 months

We loved it but it stopped working effetively after 5 month of opening a bottle on average 6 times a week. Very dissapointed, since we so so many great reviews. Have tried disconnecting for a day and recharging but not solving the problem

Terrible product

If your unit is not turning on and the base is not charging, it might be because the base is not getting enough power from the wall outlet where it is currently plugged in or the wall outlet itself is a non-working outlet. To remedy this issue, check if there is no physical damage on its cord and if there's none, try unplugging the base unit and let it rest for 3-5 minutes. Plug the base into a different wall outlet and see if it will work. Do not use it with any extension cords, power strips, and power converters or inverters as it may affect the base and unit’s performance.

Your electric wine opener has a 1-year limited warranty. If this doesn't resolve your issue, we'd like to kindly request that you contact us directly or fill in the Contact Us link below to help you get the best resolution. Have a good day!

Dead three weeks after warranty expires

As a wine opener I would give this four stars as I like how it works - when it does. About three weeks after the warranty expired it quit charging. Unplugging and plugging back in did not help. Bought another one as a gift and now regret that. No plans to buy more Oster products as this seems to be a pretty common issue and indicates a quality problem.

However, please understand that your unit only has a one-year limited warranty. As of today, your unit is already beyond the warranty period. We highly suggest that you visit the nearest service center or appliance center in your location to have your hand blender checked and possibly fixed. Poor User Guide

This is our 2nd Oster opener. The first one died when one of the bottom metal contacts disappeared & the unit couldn't charge. We had it about 1-2 years before it went down. The 2nd one I've noticed that the top light never goes out (on the stand). Read where that's the norm when it's on the charger...well it would be nice to know that in the User Guide !! Anyway, I've read a lot of negative comments about this product. Hopefully we'll have better luck with this one...
I would recommend this to a friend!
