Don't know haven't been able to use it

I received this as a gift plugged in last night it has been charging for around 15 hours both charging lights Are a steady red are they supposed to change colour when charged

Thank you for leaving such a nice review. The red light stays illuminated as long as the wine opener is on the base and the base is plugged in. The unit shall be charge for 6-8 hours and the lighs should stay on, it will not change even when the opener is fully charge. Have a great day!

Gone too Soon

We received this opener as a Christmas gift. We used it probaby 3 times a week since then. The opener quit working in the "Open" direction. The "Eject" direction worked fine. The issue is the reversing switch has four contacts, 2-Open, 2-Eject, and one of the 2-Open contact's spring/contacts broke off. The stress cycles eventually cause "work-hardening" and failure of any metal, but after only 72 cycles it is very premature. Oyster may want to look into the spring/contacts material they are using or the process of soldering the spring/contacts to the reversing switch. The soldering process my be changing the spring/contacts metallurgy with to much heat. But then again maybe it just broke! LOL

What was Blue is now Red

I have had this Oster Silver Electric Wine Opener for less than a year. I loved it. After using it, I would put it back on the charger and the light was blue. Now, it just stays red. No instructions as to what that means. I would really like a replacement as I really like this product.

TOO YOUNG TO DIE

Hardly used this and now it dies out in the middle of a party. No troubleshooting section of the User Guide or help thru the search window. Bad for the Oster name.

Quality Wine Opener

This is a sleek looking product that fits in nicely in a modern kitchen. It works straight out of the box and makes opening wine bottles a lot easier then a traditional corkscrew and even comes with a foil cutter, which is a nice touch. It does take a few tries to properly align the corkscrew with the bottle so that it goes in straight but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. The only downside is that it does take up space on your counter and the charging light always stays on, so there's a constant glow from the product. But overall it looks good and works very well. I received this product as a sample for my honest review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought this wine charter in 2021, and it worked fine for the first year. By 2023 didn’t seem to be charging very well… we tried charging it yesterday and kept smelling burning plastic. The next morning when we came downstairs the wine opener had started melting. I would avoid this product as it has trouble charging and likely came close to starting a fire in our kitchen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great until it Was NOT!!!

We have loved this and it was great until it was not. We have had this just over a year or so and then it gradually began not charging completely and totally stopping in the process of removing a cork. Not sure what to do now. As I said we have really enjoyed this. And would like to replace it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ultra short life-span

I received this as a Christmas gift and was so excited. I've used it maybe 10 times, and now it won't work at all. I've unplugged it for several days to drain the battery, then plugged it back in to charge. The charging light comes on, but no power. Totally dead... totally worthless!
