love the album, don't get me wrong, but i agree with a couple others of these reviews, in that i think it could have been a little bit better. Just Blaze didn't have any tracks on this album, and i feel like im missing that hype banger. another thing is that lyrically jay just isn't like he used to be.. and yeah all yall keep sayin "if you like his old stuff then go buy it or listen to it" well i bought it years ago and ive been listening to it for years.. so i really don't know what yall sayin.. anyways im saying jay don't really attack anybody like he used to or should do (game, comron, jim jones, etc). i wanted to hear some beef, but i guess Jay is past that stage in his life... And couldn't he have done a song with Nas? they are my 2 fav rappers in the game, and i love every song they've done together (black repulbican, success, hip hop).. I just wanted to experience another one.
What's great about it: sweet beats, great collaborations
What's not so great: lyrically its great, but its not lethal like he used to be

I honestly think this is better than some of his older stuff like Vol. 1,Reasonable Doubt, and Dynasty Roc La Familia, but doesnt mean there not all classics to em This is a must have not just for a Jay-Z fan but for a real rap fan as well. Its a new classic, becuase Hov seems more relaxed and set to Remind people who Hov is. Great album, love it. This is in my top 5 favorite Jay albums, and in my top 10 fav albums of all time.

This is another classic. Kanye paid more homage of a couple of the hottest songs on the album. But even tho Just blaze was missed. He can be forgotten about. Kanye beats are some of the sickest around. Number 11's beat is mind rattling. His sound is like Old school remix. Not like Kool Moe Dee old but like LL Old. Jay will never stop selling cuz he gave birth to an era. As he get even older than 40 we get older, and we still gonna keep buying Hov. "Venus vs Mars" is one the sickest overall. The beat is flawless, his wordplay, and lyrics in a nutshell show you that it's still there. The concert aired by the FUSE network on friday he performed about 3 of these songs. That boosted his sales too. But how many millions is this gonna sell? Run this town definitely needed to be the second single. How hot is that song? Rihanna might be his new songstress. I am saying you gonna buy it, and play it straight thru and look up and hear track 1 all over again. Keep driving cuz it dun got to the right song type of album. Hova!
What's great about it: This was like a cross with "the life and times of S. Carter & American Gangster.
What's not so great: That I couldn't buy one and get one free. I will get one to keep in plastic. Straight Classic

Jay-Z's new effort is well on its way to becoming another #1 album on the charts. The Blueprint 3 features some of music's well respected artists and showcases new and upcoming artists as well as as Roc Nation's new artist, J. Cole. Prior to the album's release, it has released 3 promo singles, 1 street single, and 1 official single. Its street single, D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune), proves that the auto-tune fad is now just a gimick rather than a change in hip hop. Its official single, Run this Town (Featuring Rihanna and Kanye West), tops the charts and proves that they can still succeed. Overall, the album sounds more pop oriented than hip hop, but it's what gives the album its futuristic edge. Favorite Tracks: D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune), Run this Town, Empire State of Mind, Real as It Gets, Off That
What's great about it: Bringing back familiar faces, showcases new and upcoming artists, bringing a future sound to hip hop
