Great movie for Star Trek fans if you are not too hung up on past franchises.
What's great about it: Great Star Trek movie for the current decade!
What's not so great: Acting can be a little cheesy at times but special effects and action cover it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Okay, Trekkie fans complaints aside, this movie rocks! J.J. Abrams goal was to rejuvenate the series and give it a new lease on life to a new generation of viewers. To that end it is very successful. My 18 year old son will attest to that as it is his new favorite movie of his lifetime. Don't laugh, because to a large extent that was it's most important goal so mission accomplished. More sequels to come!
Being an older Trek fan (not a Trekkie, thank you!), I found the movie truly enjoyable ranking right up there with original cast's "Wrath of Khan" and "Voyage Home". It is well cast and I like most of the twists it gives the young versions of the characters during the film's early stages as it sets it all up. So what's not to like?
Well, I do not want to play spoiler here so I will just leave it at the fact that the overall premise and story feels a bit recycled if you've been a fan for awhile. New fans won't find a problem there. Other than that it's just a personal point for me in that I feel that old Spock (Nimoy) could have given way a bit more at the end to new Spock and Kirk. It felt a little heavy handed like it all was done to appease the faithful. New Kirk (Pine) should have done the final voiceover for "Space. The final frontier."
In the end? Great entrtainment and a great movie to enjoy on Blu-ray.
P.S. Bring on the dual format "flipper" discs, already!!!
What's great about it: Casting and special effects are dead on!
What's not so great: Some of the storyline feels recycled.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Star Trek is a great movie. The movie is filled with action from start to finish and has some very good acting. The story is great as well. This is one of the best movies of 2009 and is great for Star Trek fans and non- Star Trek fans.
What's great about it: lots of action, great acting, great story
What's not so great: none

Great Quality Blu-Ray

This is one of the best quality transfers out there. If you like good quality blu-ray this is a movie for you.
What's great about it: Great Video Transfer, Great Audio Encoding, Good Movie

price was great too! loved it- thought the movie was great. you'll love it on blue ray and when you have a flat screen hd tv, it's even better- why go out to the theaters when you can have it at home!
What's great about it: Visually looks great-Blue ray/High Def is awesome!
What's not so great: nothing

This movie was better than I thought it would be. Maybe if the oringinal Star Trek was that interesting I may have watched it more. I got kinda of lost when the Romulan was time traveling.

What's not so great: The time travel part
