I went to my local Best Buy specifically to pick up the 3 disc blu ray edition advertised on sale for $9.99, only to find the single disc edition available. Decided to buy it anyway so I wouldn't ruin movie night but it would've been nice to have that digital copy. As far as the film...loved it ALONG with Into The Darkness, which is surprising because I HATED Star Trek as a kid (thanks dad for making me watch it over and over lol!)
I would recommend this to a friend!

This movie is awsome! Best Star Trek movie yet. It takes the series in a whole new direction. The new cast could not be more perfect. Lots of action in a series that had gotten horrible after First Contact. It actually feels like a full feature movie rather than a glorified tv movie. I will not give anymore details. Watch it for your self.
What's great about it: Awsome story twist.
What's not so great: Wish it were 4 hours long.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Never was a Star Trek fan but this movie made me want to watch all the old shows and movies. The action is outstanding. The story is amazing. The cast is beyond perfect. Really cant wait for this Blu Ray. I am in shock at how well this movie was done. A total MUST BUY for fans and new fans of Star Trek.
What's great about it: Renews and Introduces the Entire Franchise
What's not so great: Nothing

I was 14 years old when the original series came out in the fall of "66 . I"ve seen every episode at least a few dozen times ,so I am familiar with the direction the series took. I saw every Star Trek movie and this , by far , is the absolute best . The acting is spot on and a tribute to the original charactors . Great story line . The timeline in the past was altered , so this new series is taken on a whole new direction . Leonard Nimoy reprises his role as Spok . I will say no more least I give away the main plot . A MUST OWN !!!!! I smell a sequel . Everyone better "buckle UP!! "
What's great about it: Takes the series into a whole new direction ( I saw it in IMAX )

Though Best Buy doesn't say it anywhere, this product is the special edition. I'm not a Trek fan, but just loved this movie. Very accessible to those who are outside of the fandom with plenty of nods for those that have stuck with it since the 60s.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really enjoyed the film, I think it captured the adventure and fun of the original series while updating the look and pacing for the next generation. The casting on this movie was pitch perfect - everyone really inhabited their characters, establishing the core elements without resorting to mimickry. It is a fun ride.
The visual quality "blu" me away! This is the best looking thing I have ever seen on my TV - absolutely stellar.
What's great about it: Truly incredible images - like being at the theater
What's not so great: Scotty's sidekick - who decided Simon Pegg wasn't funny enough?
I would recommend this to a friend!
