this uss enterprise 09' look real good ship better as 1966 tv show was it was up to date it hi tech starship if I have money I will buy uss enterprise of 2009
What's great about it: the new uss enterprise more sharp better '60 tv show

I was so excited when this movie was going to be made. Then when it came out I was so disappointed that they did not make it to follow the time line. Why an alternate time line? It makes no sence at all to screw up a great franchise as STAR TREK. It just was so full of nonsence that I almost puked on the girl in front of me. I paid $10.00 to see this abortion! I want my money back. Everyone involved should be drummed out of the movie business. The only thing great about this movie is the Enterprise. C'mon Hollywood, get your heads out of your butts and quit screwing up all the greats! You screwed up Godzilla, Starsky & Hutch, Lost in Space and now the soon to be Green Hornet! DON'T SCREW UP THE REMAKE OF THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON!!! Hollywood is just pathetic.
What's great about it: Nothing!
What's not so great: Everything! This Movie Just Plain SUCKS!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rick Berman managed to produce 10 movies and 4 series. He created a universe that had continuity. With this movie, it has all been lost. Vulcan being destroyed affects so many plots, the Star Trek universe is destroyed.
I respect JJ's other projects and I am a fan of his work. I wish he would have worked within the established timeline.
I am a trekkie and have watched the movie twice. I will NOT watch it again.
Live Long and Prosper,...oh yeah...just not on Vulcan!
What's great about it: The acting and special effects
What's not so great: Plot, Plot, Plot
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My family and I saw this movie on opening night. This new batch of actors really caught the spirit and fire of the original characters. If you don't know anything about Star Trek (the original series), that's okay. This movie will still be awesome! If you do know ST:TOS, then you'll really appreciate the inside jokes and humor. Now that the timeline has changed, all of us are in the dark about these characters' futures. Sequel, anyone?
What's great about it: Everything!
What's not so great: Nothing!

This movie has just about everything in it... As soon as it starts it defenatly grabs your attention. Drama, Action, Comedy... u name it, and the plot is great. Had to get the bluray since it's the best way to watch this movie. A must have, must see movie!
What's great about it: Everything, Best movie I've seen all year and i'm not even a Star Trek Fan.
What's not so great: I accidentally shipped my order, instead of picking it up...
I would recommend this to a friend!

As far as this product, I just returned to work from the Best Buy near my job where I picked it up on my lunch break, so I haven't viewed it yet. I'm sure, outside of some manufacturer defect, it's going to be fine.
"Someone" said that with this movie Hollywood has ruined the Star Trek franchise. I could not disagree more. Hollywood DID NOT ruin the Star Trek franchise. They resurrected it. I agree certain movie makers have messed up some great TV Series; but don't write off all of Hollywood. Unfortunately great things sometimes fall into the hands of the wrong producers, directors, etc. Besides, Star Trek is more than a franchise. It is a way of life. I am a first generation trekker. I'm a 45 year old professional and have been a trekker since the age of 4. I can tell you that the message of Star Trek runs deeper and means more than that of Star Wars or any other TV series or movie series in any genre. It is a message of true diversity and hope for a wonderful future for every living creature. And the hope of many trekkers/trekkies everywhere when we were anticipating the release of this movie was that Star Trek would have its last great moment and go out with not only a bang but with the dignity that it and Gene Roddenberry and Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (God rest their souls) deserve. But now, to the unexpected joy of Trek fans the world over the future is wide open to a multi-dimensional universe of possibilities. It does me so proud to know that Star Trek is in such capable and worthy hands. I could go on a raging tangent drawing so many similarities between incidents that happened in the original series, the many novels and of course the movies where Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise have been brought back from the dead; and now in like manner Star Trek itself is given a new breath of life. My hat is off to Abrams, Orci, Kurtzman, all the actors and everyone else involved in the creation of this feat of movie-making genius. We who really are Star Trek fans and who really do understand its message owe these people a debt of gratitude that can never be paid. They have snatched the greatest film "franchise" in the history of motion photography from the brink of the abyss and proven once and for all that no other TV and/or movie series in any genre can match the brightness and impact that is STAR TREK!!!
What's great about it: Find Something That's Not.. I dare ya!
What's not so great: Yeah, uh huh, sure..
I would recommend this to a friend!

I saw this over the summer because nothing else was out. I was shocked that it was Star Trek and fell in love. I am sad with Blu-Ray transfer only because of the Aspect Ratio (Widescreen bars show up so I have to Zoom). Everything sounds and looks great with no big issues. Whether you like Star Trek or not give this movie a shot, it is very good.
What's great about it: Story, Acting, Characters
What's not so great: Aspect Ratio
