What's great about it: connects with you on an emotional level, genuine lyrics
Like this explanation...
Hero (3:07): The opening track of the album really grabs you and doesn't let go. From the guitar riffs to the vocals, "I need a hero to my life, A hero's gonna save me just in time". Jens vocals blend really well with the grungy sound of John Cooper. This song can be viewed as a cry for help to god, and how he is our hero and will save us. But many people have viewed this song about or soldiers overseas. Like I said before there can be more than one meaning to every song and no matter which way you interpret it, the song is still one of my favorites on the album (10/10)

What's not so great: couple slowish songs in there that lose the intensity but their emotionality hits you just as hard
love the first song. songs are only about 3 mins. you will listen to this cd again and again, the songs are so catchy but pretty short. have not heard their earlier stuff but this cd is great.

What's great about it: amazing songs throughout
Every song is a hit. Hero, Monster, and Awake and Alive, and Don't Wake Me are the best songs. Skillet really gets their Christian ideas thorough with this album

What's great about it: Upbeat album and a real toe tapper. There isn't a bad track on it. Well worth the purchase price.
This was my first purchase of a Skillet album. This cd was so enjoyable, I will be purchasing all of their previous music. It's a solid rock album. There is nobody screaming in the lyrics so it's pleasant to listen to. It definatly a good toe tapper. A purchase you won't regret. Enjoy

What's great about it: Many of the tracks, the musical style, the band, the album theme, etc.
What's not so great: Album has alot of soft tracks, And a few of the tracks don't have christian influence
This is an excellent album. Skillet has been one of my most favorite bands, and recently they've been putting out albums that have made a giant impact in Christian Rock Music, and even secular music. There's a reason why they've been around for more than 8 years. And for those who don't know(SKILLET IS A CHRISTIAN BAND, AND THEY PUT OUT CHRISTIAN RELATED ALBUMS).
This album is Skillet's lastest album as of NOW. The album's style is a mix of hard rock and soft rock, though I will say compared to their last 2 albums before this(Collide, Comatose) it is not as hard. This album mirrors Comatose in alot of ways, but you'll still find it fresh. In certain tracks they will even mix orchestra along with the guitar, drums, etc. Many of the tracks ( though they may not always come out and say it directly) are christian related. Now I will say that there are some tracks that don't seem very christian-like, but overall the style and theme of this album is very enjoyable.
Now, for the songs that will cause you to crave this album. The best songs on here are Hero, Monster, Awake & Alive, and Forgiven. Hero was the first single for this album, which was released before the album even came out. It has been ranked #1 on many radio stations and charts. Monster is also a single that was released before the album came out, and has been played on many radio stations. This song is one of the hardest rock songs on the album. And then there's Awake & Alive and Forgiven. Awake & Alive is personally my favorite song on the album, is climbing many charts, and is the kind of song that you would hear in an epic movie. This song mixes hard rock and orchestra, along with wonderful christian inspired lyrics. Forgiven is not necessarily a single, but it's a great song. A bit soft, but still a great track, and great lyrics.
Overall, I believe Skillet will receive multiple rewards for this album, with this album being one of their best. If you like you christian rock then I would highly recommend this album.
