The ad says the battery when fully charged should last 30 hours but it doesn't. I brought it to work and hooked it up to my little speakers and listened for full 8 hours. By 5PM there was one bar left...when I got home I listened to it...the battery went dead in less than two hours. I intend to bring it back before my 14th day "trial" is over.
What's great about it: Easy to use; great sound; great value for money.
What's not so great: Short Battery life.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I thought I had found just what I was looking for. After all my efforts, I am nothing but frustrated and disappointed that I cannot sync music to this player. Simply not compatible with Windows Vista....gotta return it and start over.
What's great about it: just what I was looking for!
What's not so great: cannot sync music

It is nice for use for short trips, and for home use, where you can easily charge the battery up. The battery life is a disgrace. On the website, it says 23 hours of play time, but right now, I've had this mp3 player since December 31st, and never overcharged the mp3 player, and I get 5 hours of play time, before I am coerced to recharge. Oh well. Sony is good for only one thing... headphones.
What's great about it: Easy set up, standard USB cord
What's not so great: VERY short battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent battery life. You can scroll through, to make other selections, while still hearing the current song playing. I chose this since it also has FM radio, so it gives you other music options then just what you download.
I also bought a cover for this. When it is on (kinda snug) it protects very well but it makes it hard to use the buttons. if you want to push the play/pause button, it may just move, up or down, instead of play/pausing. Buttons don't light up so it doesn't help, find/use them, when in dark areas.
What's great about it: Radio and music. holds pics and can record
What's not so great: With the cover on, hard to make selections with buttons
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got this for a person who needs to use easy to understand things due to a learning disorder. This MP3 player was not very easy for them to learn. Also being a new player I was surprised that it would not play MP4.
What's great about it: good sound output
What's not so great: Not as easy as an iPod to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What is good: The size was good-able to hide it while working out; The price was good for the amount of storage; cute pink color; nice to put pics on it but it wasn't a feature I used; easy to recharge the internal battery-just plug into the USB-no buying new batteries
What is NOT good:VERY unhappy with the music service provider-Best Buy Digital Music Store with Rhapsody- I pay $14.99:mo for unlimited downloads but the songs aren't "mine",can't even burn to CD without paying per track on top of monthly fee; you have to "reauthenticate" the subscription all the time which means you can't quit Rhapsody or you won't be able to listen to your music anymore..lots of computer/technical issues with the site and downloading music...couldn't put it on mybrand new laptop (not compatible for some reason)
I may not be the most technically savvy person so SOME kind of instruction book would be nice
It turns on when bumped...not just when pressing the button...takes FOREVER to turn off...therefore drains the battery
Couldn't plug it into anything else with a USB connection (like the PS3 for example) to listen to the music-wouldn't play
I have had this for over a year now and I wish I had bought another brand in the first place...feel like I wasted my money..
If anyone can tell me how to use a different music service provider I'd be appreciative...the MP3 itself was OK-not horrible/not great-but it's the experience of owning it as a whole that made me give it low reviews
What's great about it: Size and price
What's not so great: Best Buy Digital Music Store for Raphsody
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
