Needed to boost TV signal from cable junction to upstairs bedroom. Installed quickly and works perfectly. Should have tried this much earlier.

What's great about it: performance
What's not so great: price
Simple to install and works perfectly. I split the cable coming to my living room to run to my back porch. I installed 2 TV's on oppisite corners and the signal needed a boost. This did the trick! I have a great picture on all 3 TV's. It's a little pricey in my opinion, but I guess you get what you pay for.

What's great about it: Does what it's advertised to do.
What's not so great: On the weak side of available products.
This item was ultimately returned as it was not powerful enough to meet our needs. I used this to amplify a UHF/VHF digital antenna signal over 60 feet of quad-shield RG6 cable from the roof and then out to three separate TVs over another 75 feet of cable for each TV. This unit does what it promises but the cable length and mutiple TV needs overwhelmed its capacity. I ultimately got a more powerful two-stage amplifier that's mounted on the roof antenna post. Power is send from the basement up to the amplifer where it boosts the signal at the source. TVs now get a few extra channels and better reception. I recommend analyzing what your needs are first and then determining if this is going to be strong enough for you.

What's great about it: It actually works and it was an inexpensive fix.
What's not so great: I found nothing wrong with this product.
I have more than two TVs that are not directly supported through the cable box or an HD converter box. Reception was fuzzy and frequently pictures pixelated or disappeared. After installing the Rocketfish Amplifier, picture quality improved dramatically on all digital channels and on most air channels. What a difference!

What's great about it: shiny packaging
What's not so great: doesn't work with cable modem
This unit says it will work with a cable modem, however I tried plugging the cable modem into every possible output port, and could not get a signal that would work. The original signal is also very weak, meaning that by using this splitter, the signal is cut to a point that my cable box would not recognize without plugging the unit in. Upon doing so, I could not see a visual benefit to the signal. Between that and the signal no longer being compatible with a cable modem, I've got to bring this back to the store. Can't believe it worked worse than a cheap 2 way splitter the cable guy gave me.

What's great about it: Easy set up,
My parents recently added a cable box so they could receive additional HD channels. Unfortunately, many of the channels were not coming in and others were pixelated. I figured this was because the multiple splits in their cable had reduced the signal strength. I replaced a four way splitter they had previously installed with this booster. The location of the booster is near where the cable enters the home, which is recommended. The booster then sends the signal to a four way splitter, two two way splitters, and one cable running directly to another TV.
The cable box now works perfectly. They also have two other HD televisions. After performing a rescan, they now receive additional channels that they didn't realize they had. Apparently, the signal had been too weak for the TVs to pick up the channels.
This booster also has bidirectinal capability which enables signals to be sent back through the device to the cable company. Prior to the booster installation, their On Demand was not functioning at all. However, after installing the device, their On Demand and Cable Modem function perfectly.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone dealing with a weak cable signal.

What's great about it: Easy Install
Replaced a passive 3:1 splitter on my cable service w/ this - had one 3:1 splitter for TV, phone, and cable modem, and then the TV was split 3:1 again for the 3 TV's hooked up to cable. Replaced the downstream splitter w/ this device and TV reception is much improved - no more dropouts or pixelated images. Bidirectional works fine as the on-demand functions on the digital cable still operate fine.

What's great about it: It improved the speed of my web browser.
What's not so great: AC adaptor male end a bit loose for female receptor on unit.
The good thing about the Rocketfish Bidirectional Amplifier is that it speeds up my computer web browser, on this very long cable run I have. The web pages "pop" open like they should, rather than "load", like cable modem dial-up use to be.
I have a 60+ feet cable run from point of entry to multiple tv sets. Unfortunately, I have not used any amplifier which as a stand alone unit, produced excellent tv reception, in my circumstance. Therefore, to receive excellent TV reception, I have TWO AC equipped amplifiers on the TV cable line. (The second is less "powerful"/ lesser specs) I use the Rocketfish, near point of entry.
