Wale goes hard for D.C. he actually has very good lyrics and does a good job of mixing the Go-Go in there sometimes. The only thing that I dont like about it is that he needs to improve on the dynamics of his voice.
What's great about it: Wale goes hard for D.C. he actually has very good lyrics and does a good job of mixing the Go-Go in there sometimes
What's not so great: He needs to improve on the dynamics of his voice

This may be the one DMV, Wale' could be the one to finally put us on the map for Hip-Hop! We have always had local talent, but I think the last time it was this big was when Sugar Bear was 'Doin the Butt' in School Daze! Our love for go-go music has consistently drawn criticism from other areas/states because they didn't understand it, couldn't hear the beauty in the music, even from neighbors as close as Baltimore ("Sounds like y'all bangin on pots and pans!') Wale' has brought DMV's music to mainstream with a hometown favorite like "Pretty Girl" which is sure to bring faithful go-go listeners to their feet, and yet add enough DC influence to the rest of the songs to keep us wanting more. A definite keeper in my collection!
What's great about it: I love the way Wale' mixed some go-go in, yet he didn't make it overpowering where some people may not like it.
What's not so great: I would have like to hear more go-go, but in order for DMV to get on the map we have to mix the go-go in with hip-hop.

I dig Wale especially after hearing his single "Pretty Girls" on XM satellite. He has some true songs on there with real issues with a little twist to it. Great songs and calloborations with great singers such as Melanie Fiona, Lady Gaga, and Jasmine Sullivan.
What's great about it: Real hip hop style with the mixture of DC gogo/true album
