I had a Canon 50D and wanted to upgrade to the 7D. I wasn't sure if it was worth upgrading, but once to read the reviews and actually look at all the specs compare the two camera, it was an easy decision. I wanted a camera that I could grow into as my skill level developed as a photographer. The new layout of the buttons on the back to the quick menu just makes this camera a lot more intuitive and easy to use. In addition it has HD video and other features that can take your still pictures to a whole new level. I am a big fan of Canon and really love their productions. I highly recommend to others but do the research to make sure this camera is right for you.
What's great about it: HD Video, Picture quality, latest features and solid build
What's not so great: Nothing so far
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am a professional photographer and I use this camera daily. The only drawback is that it is VERY heavy once you get all the extras on it. However this camera is AMAZING! The pictures are gorgeous and the clarity is amazing. The camera is so quiet and VERY fast! I love, love, LOVE the HD video. One of the best I've seen on a camera so far. I own several other Canons and this is my favorite thus far. It works great for studio work as well as in the field!
What's great about it: FAST! HD Video. AMAZING Pics
What's not so great: Heavy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

A less expensive alternative to the 5DMKII

This a great camera, if you cant afford a 5DMKII this makes a great alternative! This also makes for a great camera to use as a main and have a 50D or 40D as a backup! Overall superior quality, everything you have come to expect from Canon.
What's great about it: Easy to use, 19 pt auto focus is GREAT!!
What's not so great: Heavy, sometimes slightly blurry
I would recommend this to a friend!

Probably the best camera in it's class. Adding full frame would make it perfect.
What's great about it: Quality
What's not so great: Nothing. I would remove the built-in flash to save money. Most people use speedlite.

Nice camera it takes good quality pictures but if you are a beginner buy a cheaper one because you won't use all the features this camera offers.
What's great about it: Easy to set up
What's not so great: Too heavy for everyday use.

This camera is truly amazing, but you should not purchase it if you are a beginner. There are functions that are manual that might confuse someone if they are trying to get into photography. I like this one better than the 5D Mark II so far.
What's great about it: Excellent picture quality
What's not so great: Scratches easily

Bought this as an upgrade to my Rebel XTi. It's great camera. Very good feel and great quality. Picture and video quality is excellent. Menus are easy to use.
