This camera was a step up from the Nikon D90. Let me tell you, it is a BIG STEP UP. This is an amazing and takes excellent pictures - even with the stock kit lens.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great camera

I have taken about 200 pictures with it so far. The detail is impressive when you blow them up. I took most of them inside a building at night with available light. The image stabelizing lens made the difference. At 1/60 sec and f5.6, the images were very good. I am impressed. I still have not figured out a few features; but I will.
What's great about it: great pictures
What's not so great: It may be too complex for a real novice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It is really a good opportunity to own a camera like this one. I am a beginner and all my expectation was satisfactory. Picture is crispy and at a flip of a finger you have it. It's just awesome.
What's great about it: what's great about it is it's canon
What's not so great: I don't know yet becausse I only have it for over a month.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing DSLR

This is a fantastic DSLR. Easily worth the money. Now this is not an entry-level SLR. This is for people who have some experience shooting photography. The camera has fantastic manual controls, and take absolutely incredible photo quality, even for a non-full-frame SLR. It's worth going for the 7D with Lens, as the 28-135 lens is worth a few hundred dollars, and is a rather versatile lens for only a $200 difference. The only downside to the camera is depending on where your taking a video with, the audio is only mediocre without an external mic, as well as when shooting jpeg+raw, there is a random tendency for some digital noise, which can be corrected using a program like iphoto or aperture though. If this is your first DSLR i would not recommend this camera unless your extremely willing to learn how to use the capabilites that this camera has. I would easily recommend this item to someone and repurchase it easily if given the choise
What's great about it: Image Quality, Manual Features, Video, All-Weather Body
What's not so great: Audio for Video, Random Digital Noise

I upgraded from the 60d to the d7.
Awesome camera great features. Only thing I don't like is you cannot upload to the cf must have a external reader/writer. Ok I lied I do wish it was full frame......5d mark ii is way more expensive...
I opted for the body only and went with the 24-105 f4. Lens don't fool your self the glass is way more important then the camera.
The only reason you would want to upload to cf card is to update firmware. Not needed for anything else.
Camera has tons of custom settings and low noise at huh ISO.
What's great about it: Speed, quality, and features
What's not so great: Cannot upload to cf via USB cord...need reader writer
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this on sale and it was beyond a steal! Great pictures, learning curve is steep if you've never used a DSLR before but if you have it doesn't take long to get into the swing of things. This is a definite upgrade from the Sony Alpha-330 I had. BIG BIG fan of this camera from the top down! Shutter is a bit louder than my old camera and took some getting used to, but thats probably the only 'negative' I have to say about this camera.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this camera, and I am still learning with all of the features. I love the fact that this camera is one that you can grow with.
What's great about it: It does everything I need a camera to do.
What's not so great: I have to figure out how to get the camera to fire my auxiliary flash even when the flash on the hotshoe is not ready.
I would recommend this to a friend!
