This camera is excellent for taking professional looking pictures! I went from a Rebel {which I loved} and would recommend this for those wanting to take that next step in photography. A bit more detailed in using it but once you learn the new functions it is still rather easy to use. Best Buy had by far the best price for this camera too! I LOVE it!
What's great about it: pictures are so clear. Works great in dark places too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It had come time to upgrade. I was weighing between this one and the 60D. after leaning that the 60D wasn't a magnesium alloy body like previous versions, I decided that the 7D was the way to go. I will admit, there is a small learning curve stepping up to this model from what I was using (Rebel T1i,) but after playing with it a little and reading the camera manual, I was able to just pick it up and shoot with it comfortably. The kit lens is pretty nice for an out of the box lens. It also is a macro lends too. Big bonus.
For those of you complaining that the pictures don't come out as sharp as the 60D or rebel series, you have to retrain yourself a bit. You went from a 9 point to a 19 point AF system, so you have to pay attention and think about your shots before you take them.
For those complaining about the weight, it's a magnesium alloy body. It is going to be heavier and it is that much more durable. Do some arm curls and wrist exercises and you'll be fine.
All and all, a great camera.
What's great about it: price, features, quality
What's not so great: unremarkable, nothing to go here.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is really a great camera. I couldn't believe how good the pictures are from this camera. And at 8 frames a second its pretty fast. When capturing photos of my sons baseball game I have to use 32GB compact flash cards because at 8F/S a 16GB just wont do.
I am not a professional, but this is definitely a professional grade camera.
What's great about it: It's Fast! 8 frames/sec!
What's not so great: Consider getting a bigger compact flash card
I would recommend this to a friend!
