Great professional camera for the price!

Great beginning camera for a professional such as myself requiring both still images and video. It's durable, proficient, easy to use, and produces more than adequate material. Besides the lack of the full frame sensor and the fewer megapixels for still images (the 7D has 18 as opposed to the 5D's 22) I'm perfectly content with this camera!
My Best Buy number: 2117225185
My Best Buy number: 2117225185
What's great about it: The quality of picture is comparable to equipment twice as expensive.
What's not so great: It's not a full frame sensor like the 5D series cameras are.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Countless easy to use features make photography simple.
What's not so great: Built-in flash not very powerful. Get an add-on flash for best coverage.

Along with the 28mm - 135 mm L series Canon lens I bought with it as a kit, the EOS 7D takes superbly sharp photos, operates very well in low light conditions without flash and is supremely customizable. There's a lot to learn if you haven't used a DSLR camera before. But you'll be rewarded with great photos and great color. You can take photos in RAW or JPEG. The image stabilization works great with compatible lenses, eliminating blurry images at all but the slowest shutter speeds. You can't go wrong with this purchase.
What's great about it: Powerful, tremendous options, very customizable
What's not so great: Steep learning curve

This is actually my first DSLR. If this is going to be your first, plan on spending hours reading the manuel. After a couple days of playing with it I feel like I finally know what i'm doing.
I actually bought it mainly for the HD video quality. But plan on getting some sort of stabilizer or only use on a tripod. The handheld video is VERY shaky.
The depth of field is amazing. I bought several lenses: EF 50mm 1.4 and EF 17-40mm L 4. This is such a great combo.
One thing that surprised me was on the second day I owned it, I was filming and when reviewing I noticed a dead pixel right in the middle of my videos. It looked horrible - but it turns out I just had something (dust or something) on the sensor or it needed to be reset. I took the lens off and manually cleaned the sensor for about 30 seconds. Put the lens back on and it was perfect.
Overall, I'm VERY happy with this camera. Invest in some good glass and you will too!
What's great about it: HD Video
What's not so great: very shaky video

I was 'up in the air' between the 7D and the 5D. Price comparison, if you don't mind not having 'full-frame', I'd go for this camera. The quality of the pictures is amazing...the detail is crisp. The menu can be slightly confusing but that will take a little time.
What's great about it: Great pictures, battery life, options, file formats & more!
What's not so great: Not full-frame, auto-focus with 28-135mm lens isn't the best.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this camera just a couple of days ago. I am new to SLR video, this camera has great video but its not easy to adjust the settings for someone new to it, its a great camera and worth the price. Great sports camera, I even turned on my fan at full speed and was able to capture a still image of it.
First video test:

What's great about it: well rounded, has many features and great quality.
What's not so great: Settings are hard but its beause there more settings to choose which is better.
